That's because some people don't complain because they don't want to hurt any feelings. Also, I don't see anyone complaining about this tournament, volunteering to help TO, anything.
No, Daycia's right. I didn't go because of the last event. I don't mind running someone else's tournament, or helping out, or giving them a hand, or showing them what to do and what not to do. I do it a lot. I also don't mind when TOs take a cut from the venue fee, or keep it all. That's fine. But when I came to Ren's tournament, and he kept all of the venue fee from an event that he didn't run, that's where I draw the line. And after talking to Count and understanding that Ren, once again, had no intention of running this tournament, I had absolutely no interest in going. With the first event, I already agreed that I would help him with the tournament, so I didn't back out of that, but I'm not going to any of Ren's tournaments until something changes. And if Ren's attitude is seriously "Why should I apologize, it isn't my fault!" Then I wouldn't be surprised if I'm not the only one that chooses to not go to his events.Excuse me? No... KY didn't go because Hilt didn't go. I don't even remember you saying you couldn't go. I'm barely scratching the surface with what I want to say, and I'm going to keep it that way before feelings get hurt.
There were mixups with information, wrong sheets were put out, rules were incorrect, events were scheduled in an unorthodox manor, these are things that it is the job of the TO to take care of. Things that you plan for both before the event, and constantly throughout the event. You can't start a tournament and expect it to run itself and you just run around and play friendlies or whatever and have a great time. It's a job. He was unprepared as a TO and that is something that people (not me) should get an apology for. The tournament was sloppy, and that is his fault.
I'll post more later. It isn't me who should be explaining these things, as I wasn't there. But if other people aren't going to speak up, I'm going to say something. However it seems they are starting to, so I'll try to take a backseat for a moment.
edit: Chi and Avarice know what they're talking about. Listen to those kids.
edit again: Find any thread of mine where I ran a tournament and there were problems of any kind. Any results thread, where I make mistakes in the actual tournament, comes with an apology. Even when it's not my fault directly, such as the L9M event where the venue backfired on us near the end. It was my tournament, **** went wrong, apologies were given. I don't understand why that logic is so difficult to understand.
