The Guide

1. Compile a .gct containing only the texture swap codes (found at SMK's guide in the Useful Links section) and the codes below. The texture swap codes must be before these codes. This .gct is the one that will be placed in the "codes" folder of your sd card like a normal codeset.
What do you mean by this?

When you open the code manager that code must be below the texture swap codes?

nvm I got it to work!

I'm having a bit of trouble, I've done everything that the directions told me to do. Ive' made three bin files, two with the b+ 3.2 codeset, and one with the latest b+ codeset. Ive made them all with the latest b+ tweaker but no luck. Also, the texture hacks are working fine. Can anyone help?

I'm actually getting a freeze at loading my .gct file. All I've got in it is the texture loader, and then this snapshot thing.

Maybe somebody could upload one that's working, please? I'm sure what I'm trying to do is pretty similar to everybody else.. I've got

.gct - Texture loader, snapshot hack.
.bin - Plussery 3.3

Did you view the snapshot in the album?

A freeze at Gecko? Are you sure you dont have any GameCube memory cards in your Wii? If you do, take them out.

I saved my snapshot file as "al_SB.bin" and when I viewed it in the album, the codes weren't activated but my textures worked. I don't see what I am doing wrong.

Yes. As a matter of fact, I looked at two at the same time to cause a freeze, but it didn't happen...

For both of you, I'm pretty sure the problem is with the .gct, not the .bin. Did you make sure to get the "Load codes from snapshot" code only for your region of Brawl, with the universal "execute codes loaded from snapshot" code? You should only have 2 codes, totalling 15 lines, in the .gct (plus textures)

lolwut. I guess I missed the part where it said the universal code was to be included as well.

It's not because of memory cards - I've used GeckoOS and the Brawlplussery for a long time. It's specifically my .gct that seems to be making the game freeze.

I'm just troubleshooting now, but read this vv

I could try it without the textures codes for troubleshooting. I guess I'll do that.

Okay, it definitely works perfectly right now. All I have is the 15 lines from the .bin loader.

Without looking at the picture, the codes aren't in place, but after, I get Plussery 3.3.

Now, I'm going to try and add in the texture replacement.

Edit: All is working now. Glee!

I still have no idea what I screwed up the second time. Oh well.

Specifically what doesn't work? I can't help you unless you're more specific. Are you sure you read and followed every step exactly?
Yes, I'm sure. The custom texture codes didn't work either.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found out I forgot the execute codes code lol.

EDIT2: Still doesn't work...

I am unsure if this was answered already, but...

Both the Brawlplussery codes and Music Swap codes cannot be loaded at the same time, using this method?

Nothing at all is working? No textures, no codeset, but the snapshot is showing up? The problem is with the .gct - is it in the codes file, titled "RSBE01.gct"?

I've heard people have had trouble with them. Haven't personally tested it though. If there's a problem, try putting the music swap codes on the .gct (taking out textures if necessary for space).

Yes, all the files are in the right place. The only thing that works is the slightly longer loading time.

I have verified that Music Swap codes and Brawlplussery codes can be used at the same time, just not in the same snapshot. If you want both, simply include Music Swap codes with the Snapshot Hack codes in the original GCT file. The Brawlplussery codes should be in the actual snapshot, since they reach a total of 254 lines.

The Snapshot Hack also works with miscelleneous stuff like Item Switcher, Unrestricted Pause Camera, Cinematic Camera Control, etc., granted they are included in the primary GCT file~

Hmmm...does that mean we can't use music swap, texture swap, and brawlplussery codes at the same time unless we load the gct through gecko brawl? Or are the texture swap codes included in the 254 lines (now 255 with the updated snapshot hack codes)?

Can you send me a link to the music swap codes?

I dunno, it's just what worked for me. I can't try out using Brawlplussery and Music Swapping codes in a single snapshot just yet, because access to my Wii is verrrrry limited; I merely played around in My Music and several B+ characters just to make sure I was able to use both. My next task is try using the Music Swap codes and the Brawlplussery codes in the same snapshot. (I didn't mean to say that it doesn't work; I didn't even get to test it~)

There is a code-generating program that can be found here: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=221814

Some songs like Battlefield v.2 don't work, unfortunately, so it has to stay on Battlefield~

So we no longer need gecko brawl??
:laugh:we never needed gecko brawl - it's just a temporary solution until we get Gecko 2.0
Snapshot hacks are large enough that even once Gecko 2.0 comes out, we still wont need to switch.

And Icer: if music swap codes remain active after they are taken off the gct, they don't need to be in the snapshot - they can just be added in a separate gct, get wiped off the sd (but remain in Brawl) , and they'll still be there

Question. If I sent the snapshot(the one with the gct) to someone who has the execute gct from snapshot code on and viewed it, would the same gct codes turn on for them?

EDIT: It works.

Oh.. well I have GeckoOs as a channel so with this hack, I won't need to go into the Homebrew Channel like I did for Gecko Brawl since this isn't an updated Gecko??

Good point, I guess my next task would be to try activating the codes with the Snapshot but without an SD card (though I don't think that's supposed to work)~

Load the code snapshot (which will show up as a garbled image) to activate the codeset.
I still don't get what you mean by this...

Do you want us to start the game through GOS and then go to the Photo Album option in brawl itself?

EDIT: Ok so I did the photo thing and it loaded all of my brawl + codes YAY :D, But none of my textures worked :(

They are in the same folders that I had before I tried this so they should be working >.<.
These are the codes I have in my .gct that I'm using:

Well that's odd

Knockback? None of the codes affect knockback except the hitbox mod. Try replacing both the hitbox mod engine and the data, it's probably just a typo

I think I have everything done properly but the codes won't load.

When I go to the snapshot on Brawl, it says that the snapshot is corrupted. Should you be able to see it (garbled) or is this is what is supposed to happen?

I need a little more information than that. Did you use the 'extreme <character>' codes? What characters aren't working?

Also, first post update
no, its actually just lots of super character codes. Example: lucario, falco, fox, ike, marth, dk. i had more, and they all worked fine. but some just don't work like wario, samus or wolf.

oh, and about this gecko 2.0: will it be able to use more than 256 lines without snapshot hacking? cuz that problem with the super characters that i have is annoying.
