Edit: Nvm, FINALLY figured it out.

Another question: How do I save an image in 32-bit on Photoshop? Where's the option? I use Photoshop 7.0.

Edit: YET ANOTHER QUESTION: I only tested one portait. How about if I want to add another? Do I have to run only that new portait through the Step 2. bat, or both that and the old tga files and then use the new common.pac file? Help on this please.

For those who want to edit textures, download Paint.Net. It's a lot easier to use than photoshop, especially for texture hacking because you don't have to index or anything like that. After your done editing, just save it as a .tga (targa) and when the saving options box comes up, check "32-bit' and leave "Compress(RLE)" checked, and step 2 of ASH will read it perfectly.

Alright I'm gonna try this again. Why do I keep freezing during the now loading screen when I boot my brawl, whenever I use Dynamic sd loader 1.1 instead of 1.0? I've already tried using file replacement 1.1 instead of 1.3 and taking off any other codes (snapshot codes) I really need to know this because I'm trying to get csps to work. It works fine with Dynamic sd loader 1.0 but it only shows the CSPs at the victory screen. Someone really help me please, I've been waiting for an answer.

Nothing seems to be working, but I noticed something. I've installed the new Gecko OS on the first page and got rid of the old one, but whenever I load HBC, it still shows my old GeckoOS 107 instead.

Did you add the Disable Custom Stages code?
Or check if your going over the 256 code limit.
You need SD Loader 1.1 to have csps to display on the character selection screen.

That's what my gct contained. Its around 193 lines I think, and it freezes without the snapshot codes either.

The only way that the above wont freeze at the loading screen is if I replace sd loader 1.1 with:

But I understand that I need 1.1 for it to display. I'm just downright confused as to why this doesn't work. Is it a old disable custom stage code or something?

Deff, I remember I had a problem similar to this but I'm not sure how I fixed it. I could give you suggestions though.

-Remove the snapshop hacking, for now.
-Check if you properly installed the csps using CUPASH
-Check if you renamed to common5.pac
-Check if you put everything into the right folder.

If you need more help, try aiming me and I could try to help o.o

Hm, are those bin files in the rp folder important? I can't get anything to work.
al = Pictures
st = Stages
rp = Replays

It's weird how everyone is having their CSPs appear on the results screen and not the CSS. Same thing's happening to me...

When you use Photoshop, it works better than GIMP, right?
Someone said that GIMP indexes pictures differently than Photoshop does, and Photoshop indexes the right way for CSPs to work.

Hrm... I'm having an odd problem. when I brawl other people sometimes the textures dont show. like they do on the charicter Im using but not others. but I swich to the same charicter and textures show on both of them... then sometimes other peoples do even if Im not playing as the same charicter. Like, I could be playing as Green Sonic, and facing a Blue Pikachu with the right texture and a Gold Link with the normal texture.
any idea whats going on here?

Also whats the news with the Custom Music code?

To people with portait problems: You most likely don't have the 1.1 SD Loader code, and are probably using the 1.0 SD Loader code. I had the same problem where it'd show up in victory screen only but not char select. Re-add the codes on the front page, they updated the SD Loader code without notice to 1.1 sometime in the last week.

I came across another problem. Apparently, Pokemon Trainer with textures does NOT work on wifi. It works, but when my opponent switches out to Charizard, it disconnects instantly. The textures work perfect offline though. Any ideas? And yes, I do have the pacs, hence working offline. It's the only texture bug I've came across online. Well, that and you have to have pacs for every texture or your opponents chars won't show up textured for you.

Yea, I've tested it. It works online but ONLY on your side. Your opponent WILL NOT see the textures. Also, you have to have pac files for each texture or if your opponent selects a char without a pac file the texture won't show up. Not a big deal since you can easily create pacs but yea.

This is getting frustrating..... It's not working for no reason.....
Hmmmm. I guess this means I'm gonna have to double check my .tga files again. :urg:
I'm using GIMP. I have Photoshop 6.0 but it refuses to open .tga images.

Meh, I thought I had it working. I downloaded a bunch of textures but I went to go check and only my Dark Black and Red MK and Big Boss Snake are showing up. I can't see my lovely Ryu Hayabusa Captain Falcon.

A few CSP questions.

-When I load them, there are a few CSPs that appear that I didn't load, nor do I have those textures. Is it possible that the common5.pac I downloaded had these on them, and I need a new one to clear them out?
-While running step2_create, I get multiple messages saying that "link is too big, wolf has too many colors, etc." The .tgas that I use I downloaded; are these select few just duds now?
-After everything is packed, I only have one .brres file. I'm assuming that isn't right (I'm packing a good 50 or so portraits), and as far as I've seen, none of them have appeared in the HUD.

I know that's kind of a lot, but I'd appreciate any help I can get! ^^;

I'd say yes, as well as brrse (or whatever) files in the menu folder. Those files are the actual portaits. I'm not sure if common5.pac is a static file or not for portait editing, but I'd definitely recommend using the one in the System folder of Newfiles folder after running step2, as well as the portait files in the Menu/Common/charwhatever folder.

Link is too big? Or final file is too big. If it's final file too big, I'm not sure myself. My guess is you'd have to edit the big tga in Photoshop to fit the standards (probably lowering color palette). If all else fails, you can try to make your own. It's not TOO hard it's just a tad annoying. I have gotten that error a lot though with big files so now I just do my own.

-After everything is packed, I only have one .brres file. I'm assuming that isn't right (I'm packing a good 50 or so portraits), and as far as I've seen, none of them have appeared in the HUD.
Are you putting all the tga files in the newfiles folder before running the step2.bat? Also, I'd delete any of the folders in there too before running it. Just to be safe. From what I've seen brres files can hold more than one portait (one per char maybe?).[/QUOTE]

Is there something funky about Game & Watch, why doesn't he have any texture hacks?
He doesn't have textures. Not even one lol.

Is there any way to edit his color? I'm guessing that there's a code that allows us to have different shades or something...white game and watch?!?

I extracted G&W's .pac and ran it with ASH...

This is basically what you see

WTF ARE THESE FILES

Other words they are just random files that you would never knew existed....

Actually, wasn't G&W one big thick black figure? He just has the flat effect 24/7.

Now i'm a bit more confused... i'm using the common5.pac that's provided with the pack to create the templates, and using the common5.pac i get after packing as the final product...

Okay, I figured this would be the case.

You don't need those templates when you're making the final step. You only need to add the files you edited to the New Files folder. So Common5_en.pac isn't needed again after you run it once. Only worry about the one inside NewFiles's System folder. That one goes onto your SD card and gets renamed to common5.pac. What's the file size for the common5.pac file? I believe it should be about 11-12mb. If it's any less, then it probably won't work.

Simple, after decrypting G&W's main PAC you can find a small 6digit binary code in a hex editing software, edit the values like you would in a color pallete in PS or GIMP, and vuowlah!!

there are 6 values which you can edit

Still doing what? Does Step2.bat give you any errors when you run it? Did you copy the files from the Menu folder too?
