To answer your question, Fooly, I personally haven't heard of any cases of where players freezing up can get free after the opposing player lands a hit on them. You have to keep in mind that this is taken from BBR 3.0 and so A LOT of the kinks of that ruleset must be worked out to my liking.

This tournament is like testing out the tires out on a new car. You want them to be good, but you don't know how long it has been sitting there to be honest.

The rule will likely be removed.

Yes, LT singles and doubles will be there with enough interest. Keep in mind that it will not be traditional LT as far as the tier list is concerned, so instead of E, F, and G tier for LT it will be D, E, F, G tier. That is part of the reason why I am advertising that tournament as a mid/low tier brawl tournament.

It doesn't cost any money up front, and it serves two purposes, one is that it is a head count of how many is committed to showing up and two, it will let me know ahead of time if there is a need for pools in any event. i would change that rule in your original post about using the wiimote. most people won't bother to read all this like i did and thus your turn out will be smaller as every1 will think this tournament is a joke. everybrawl tourney that has ever mattered ever allows wiimotes. might go to this now that they are legal again but still soooo much lol @ "must remove batteries or you're disqualified without money return or prize payout." makes it sound like a way to keep the money even after it's won because the tourny is over but the controller has batteries. i'd seriously change your wording so as to attract more people to actually go to this so you actually have turnout.

Yo, OK Melee may be interested but we would love to see Melee teams.

The last two tourneys we went to actually had equal or higher turnouts for Melee, and DFW Melee is hot stuff so I bet It'd be popular. We also have some down for MvC3.
