what I mean is that the character would be different from others already in Smash.If what you mean by "departure" is that we'll lose a free roster slot? Then i know that all to well, however this thread revolves around the hope that SF gets a 5th rep and possibility that it might not get a new rep at all.
if there's even a 4th newcomer, I am willing to bet on either Krystal or Leon. but Leon is more popular than Krystal in Japan, so judging by what happened with Jigglypuff, Marth, Roy and Lucas, I think he might have a chance. but its kinda doubtful that Star Fox is going to get another character. I think the three we have now already do much representation of the series.

I believe its a rivalry with falco? Where did you get that info cuz i believe andrew chases slippy around in SF64?
They should take that idea and run with it.Here's another image of Leon, just as an extra reference...
Anyway, I'd like to see what Leon can do in a battle. Fox has his rival, so it's only fitting if Falco's rival enters the fray too. Maybe his moveset could be related to assassins, seeing as he is one.

Eh, I don't care for Panther but I definitely support both Bucha and Leon they would both be so awesome to have.

Yah your right i should really think about updating this thread :/As much as I don't want to be a hater, every single one of your "reasons" for Leon to be in Smash are absolutely awful. I think when you're grasping at straws so bad that your evidence doesn't even really convince YOU (and there's no way it can), I think it may be time to abandon ship.
Just out of curiosity where does you're obvious dislike of kr.....the blue vixen that debuted in star fox adventures circa 2002 come from??Yah your right i should really think about updating this thread :/
It doesn't have very many facts and it could use some more reasons for leon support. plus it doesn't even have a complete moveset?
But FYI hoooots leon would be a superb addition to smash and his chances arent THAT LOW either

Oh i see.... well the way i view it a love interest for fox was inevitable so krystal or some other female fox would of came into the picture sooner or later. But yeah the star fox name was tacked on to adventures even with as well as they implemented the star fox characters you could still tell that....well they were tacked on that being said it wasn't a bad game it had a cool story some excellent features but still i see where you're coming from. as for everything done wrong assault was a decent title the on foot missions were strange and there were way to many of them but space combat was top notch i think that star fox wii u will expand on that and get star fox up and running again.i really dont hate krystal all that much

WHICH BTW didn't need that at all.
Star fox had its own thing going which i loved
(Space animals with amputated lims fight the galactic forces of a giant brain to defend there soler system)
And I'm sure that SF WOULD HAVE gotten the sequel it deserved if nintendo had been a little more patient and not attacked rareware for there game.
Still its not like its krystals fault for setting SF on a seemingly unfixable path?

So yah i dont hate krystal i just hate the idea of her representing starfox.
It may very well have been but we gotta make do i still believe in the series. I like pretty much all the star fox games as well........except command simply because of the friggin soap opera! of a storyHay from a gameplay stand point i dont think any SF game is bad/lame/inadequate.
And believe me the characters and concept of adventures wasn't bad? SFA took the series in a relatively good direction.
But still i think the direction SF could have taken if it hadn't of takenover dinosaur planet, would have been a much better one.
