-You screwed up a lot of arrow cancels in the beginning, and they are kind of excessive. Try to arrow cancel after a bomb pull if you're gonna shoot an arrow at all.
-I just see a lot of random grounded arrows which can be PSed and punished.
-You react slowly.
-Boomerangs and Bombs are part of his games, so try to use that more.
-When you throw boomerangs, smash it. It reaches farther and I think it travels faster too.
-There is quite a lot of room at FD. It seemed to me like you were restricted to the ground. Use more of the space to help you get around.
That's all I got.
-That is something I'm trying to work on, seeing as I haven't gotten the timing down very precise for it yet but I do manage to pull it off correctly from time to time.
- ^ Most of those are my failed Arrow Cancels, which I try to SH then do but doesn't always seem to happen.
- Uh, I'll try to react faster?
Have any examples of what I could/should of done at parts for an example?
- I thought I used a lot, I guess I need to use more, lol.
- Explain? Smash with the stick or do I press/hold the B button or simply tap it?
- Well, I try to do a lot of SH Aerials.
Throwing a bomb down when he's on the other side of the stage doesn't really do much...throwing bombs AT him would do more. Throwing more boomerangs would help as well.
You used grounded arrows a lot and those get punished. Some of it was predictable but it takes creativity and cleverness to fix that. Try catching the peanut (at least I think it was a peanut ): that freaked out a diddy I played against.
You got owned by the 'naners too.
- Like Twink said, I spent too much time trying to predict his movements too much. It was an attempt to keep him away from me but I suppose throwing them AT him would of been much better.
- I don't think I use grounded arrows very close, besides that one time he did his Side-B kick into me. Most of the time I only do them if they are far away.
- Bombs > Peanut. Besides, it takes time to catch the peanut and once you have it, it limits aerials and isn't that great as a projectile, at least that's how I see it.
- Who doesn't get owned by the bananas? We all know it's all momentum based and once his hits you with one, you can expect a follow-up. I guess I need to work on PS/catching them better (which I did a few times in that match with N-airs).
I think you're spending too much time trying to read the Diddy. So much time, that it's easy to predict you. You react slowly. Also, against a Diddy, I would recommend throwing the bananas away, or punishing him with it. If you leave it on the ground, he can just pick it right up.
Try to spam more projectiles. What you did slowed down his approach, which is good, however, it's better to make his approach more of a struggle. If you spam more projectiles, it's harder for him to approach, even with bananas.
If what I said doesn't make sense, I'll fix it later. My eyes are half closed.
- So true.
- Any examples of slow reaction?
- Yeah, I still haven't gotten it into my head that throwing the Bananas away to keep him from using them is better than hitting him with them.
- I try to use as many projectiles/Z-airs that I can to keep him from approaching, but I suppose I need to use the Boomerang more.
Conclusion:
1) Work on Arrow Cancels more
2) Throw Bananas away
3) More 'rangs
4) Less grounded arrows
Thanks for all the tips guys, I will definitely keep this stuff in mind in the future.
