Jigglover, if you want this thread locked, just say so. It's probably better off that way anyway, since this is extremely poorly designed. Not to mention we already have somewhere to vote on and view the top 50 or so characters with a system that isn't as screwed up as this one.

I doubt anybody actually takes this seriously enough to want to take over anyway.

The poll doesn't have a lot of characters though.
There's no dark samus, there is banjo - kazzoie, and even some mysterious samurai gooh!

This poll having an unlimited amount of potential characters isn't a point in it's favor. The main ones (aka the characters with actual chances) are on the poll Shortie made already. Dark Samus is on it. Banjo-Kazooie is a popular choice (the goal of the poll is measuring popularity, not likelihood) plus he isn't technically impossible. Maybe you can't tell who Samurai Gooh is, but everyone else can.

I totally agree with Spydr. I didn't see much point in this to start with, but if it's not going to be maintained, then I definitely would advocate for it to be locked. Same with StreetPassWanter's, if it isn't already.

I would also advocate a lock. It's redundant, and far less useful than Shortie's poll.

The characters on Shortie's poll are the ones that actually have noticeable popularity. Sure, they aren't the only choices, but pretty much any character not on that poll (that is eligible) won't receive much support. The goal of this thread, which is to find the top 50 characters, already existed on the better poll.

Plus this one is poorly made, the rules are incredibly flawed. By adding optional multiple votes, this thread and the results have lost any credibility they might have.

I want Mickey Mouse. I will come here religiously every other day to vote for Mickey Mouse. Soon enough, Mickey Mouse will be considered the "most wanted SSB4 character." See why this doesn't work?

The poll has characters that are more widely popular, and I may be wrong (I was inactive for a while so I don't know) but I'm pretty sure the poll used to have more options, but the less popular ones got eliminated to allow more votes for more characters that actually deserve votes.

Yes, originally there was another poll with many more choices, but Shortie closed it with the top 100 (double what this thread is trying to achieve) being transferred to the poll we have now. That's why the order might seem a little strange (as the characters on the current poll are ordered by what place they were in on the previous poll), with the majority of the more popular characters at the top.

That's why even if this poll's rules allowed for fair voting, it would still be redundant. Though I think I've complained about it enough, if it doesn't get locked I'll probably just stop coming here.
