tournaments are not technically gambling. there's not a big difference between hustling in a game of pool and what we do with smash tourneys. same principle, really.

When something becomes gambling: when the game is no longer a game of skill, but a game of chance. At least that's what I understand to be the main difference between tourneys and blackjack (gambling)...

interesting note, google: legality of tournaments. First result is...? >_>

Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know I talked to the fairgrounds and if we get the money, the venue is ours. It is open for that weekend and is a great deal for our needs, I explained our entire situation to the fairgrounds and they were very sympathetic and willing to work with us! I am talking to them on Monday to figure out exact costs and procedure, but all looks wonderful.

That being said, if anyone can help pay for the venue please let me know. We have money coming from a few different places for the cost of the venue, but the more help we have the better.

It's cool man, Plank found a HUGE venue for a reasonable price.

If we can get like 50+ SRK guys to come to this, we can make this work.

Plank definitely get in contact with me.

I Can guarantee over 100-150 people will come for the SRK side of things. We'll talk soon and go everything. You don't have to do this alone with talking to the Fairgrounds, I can help with the venue fees beforehand cause I know we will make it all back. So please contact me ASAP. Hungrybox has already been awesome but all 3 of us need to be on the same page to make things even better.
