I doubted twilight princess for a while. The opening is a little slow, but its just as good as all the previous Zeldas. I only just beat it this past fall, I waited for the GC version because i despise wii controls.

The new Twisted Metal is apparently sporting competitive multiplayer "designed to facilitate an e-sport experience in which skilled players can compete in a balanced arena." Competitive Twisted Metal may be the greatest thing in existence.

im not going to any more tournaments more than 2 hours away from now on though. that **** gets old. all the driving for no real reason i just feel kind of lame doing that man and it costs too much.

i kind of wish i had another name other than shaSLAM.

i want to change my name to gothboy

i know thats a horrible name. that just makes me like it more. i feel like gamers need to have horrible names sometimes and if i ever get good i want to be one of those people that reps a horrible name.

im starting to understand smash i think. im starting to see potential there. i think i just overthink alot of things. i know....that doesnt sound like a bad thing but it is. overthinking is harmful to one's intelect though, ironically enough because its usually more clouded thinking and less rational and staight forward. theres a fine line between being smart and being someone who overthinks and i know im someone who overthinks and i think that carries over to smash too.

/smash thoughts over the past three days.

i think i'm understanding the game more too. my problem is hard matchups. i'm considering picking up more characters. I hate when I play well for a solid 5 minutes and then a stupid character punishes one mistake and all of a sudden all that good play is erased. i really want to go all pit, but he's like not good lol i feel like i'm handicapping myself even though I clearly play the best with him.

slam you were looking good I watched a couple of your videos. everyone's improving but me :(

nah dude, i feel like everyone is improving but ME, janitor.
i think me and you just have the same mindset twords trying to get good at this game and we are kind of really hard on ourselves about it and think so much into what and why and how people are good.
i dont think its that we are bad or anything.

also, janitor, we need to throw down like we use to man. we havent done that **** in forever. if anything ill be 21 over the summer.

also im starting to see why learning matchups are important. i didnt know the pika MU and i couldve played better prolly. also i dont KNOW some other MU's that i feel comfortable with. i think it would be beneficial to KNOW them than to just go off of what i already know myself and how i feel about them.

Yeah the main thing is I have no car right now. I used to just drive up there. Plus I don't live in Hoover anymore, so even if I did it would be like a 45 minute drive. Which still isn't bad but yeah, do people still party in montevallo? any loose *****es over there dtf

Yeah I feel like we're both improving tbh. But we just dont have anyone to practice with like everyone else. but your ddd was lookign slick though. very patient and your spacing is on point. i was watching my vids from iron brawl too and at the tournament I felt like I just got *****, but looking back I think I played all right, probably the best i ever have, I just got to figure out what kind of dumb **** I can do with pit to beat stupid characters lol

yeah but i can come to bham to and throw down there and bring monte folks lol
when i turn 21 that is... (everyone else is 21 already)
and yeah everyone still parties most the damn time except crowds change and whatnot and i dont always like the crowd so i peace out of there for a couple months then go end up back on the party scene then peace out again. i espicially dont like it when the new freshmen come and everyone goes freshmen crazy but i gotta admit freshmen *****es are soooooo DTF so thats the main reason why that happens.

i feel ****ing weird though cuz everyone is like "whats your major dude what year are you?" when its new people and im like "nah man i dont go here im just chillin"

**** me for failing out of there worst decision of my life seriously.

raf, luis? do you have any specific ideas about grabbing with pit.
i mean like, usually with most character grabbing a lot is a good idea. But pits grab range is kind of pathetic, and I find myself whiffing grabs A LOT? should I just forget about grabbing so much? I just feel like I never really get to punish anything with pit. But I guess that's why he's not top tier.

edit: I dunno though. Kool Aid and other pits grab a lot. i guess you just got to keep your range in mind and think quickly.

and i still think it goes back to learning specific situations. like since that match with ipuff and several online matches, I never try to shield grab bair or nair anymore (if they're spaced right). so I just gotta learn all the moves i can't punish with grab i guess.

also I just recovered from like a 10 game lose streak on aib lolwut

I figure 3 tournaments has given us enough data to have an ASL ELO rankings. I just spent the last 5 hours running the numbers through the program and formatting the webpage.

Check it out HERE

I put the win/loss numbers on there, but the rankings aren't just a simple win/loss calculation, so don't be mislead by that. It will still take awhile for it to be completely accurate, but you can see that most of the major skill differences have been ironed out over the last few tourneys.

EDIT: Also, I tried to be accurate with everyone's characters. Just tell me if I got something wrong.

If DRN gets Pit and Pikachu next to his name, surely I get PT next to mine. I've won some matches with him, most notably my set against 4GOD.

i guess itll just need more time to be accurate but i dont understand how someone with a win/loss ratio of 8-16 beats a 13-17

thats like.... a pretty big difference as in ive only lost one more set than he has but i have won 5 more....

also our MU spread looks kinda the same except the fact that i have beat more people... i just dont understand pops vs. me.

thats pretty much it though.

looks like i suck on the sheet so youre prolly doing it right lol

also are you guys counting pools or is this just stricly bracket based?

Pools too. It doesn't matter just how many you beat, it matters who you beat and lose to.

The win/loss ratio is not sets btw, it's games.

EDIT: I added something new to the page. I put the rankings program and the current season file I'm using for this season's rankings on the web page. You can download both yourselves (they are both small files) and tinker around to see how you can affect your ranking at future tournaments.

I personally I rarely grab with Pit. I never shield grab with Pit, and I try not to go for grabs in the beginning of stocks for the chaingrab stuff, because I think I start playing to predictable if I go for it. I think going for grabs, especially as pit is situation dependent. If you are able to land a grab, you need to make sure you get the most out of it. I like trying to read air dodges after down throw and trying to land bairs or pivot grabs.

I've only used ICs in the one tournament I've attended. I did use Peach in some pools matches, but that's it.

so who exactly did pops beat that put him above me even though he has lost double the amount of times he has won and my losses barely outweigh my wins.
i just dont understand that but whatever
