NO MORE MONEY MATCHES AT SOMETHING 2 DO! The magic people are starting to listen to our loud discussions, and they herd about a money match. They threatened to call the police on Rob for us illegally gambling. If you have a money match here, Rob or Josh will probably kick you out. Also, if it keeps on happening, we may lose our Venue. Just fair warning.

Money Matches aren't considered gambling. Video games are a game of skill. MtG tournaments are more gambling than Smash is.

Good games to those I played. Enjoyed out Money Match Ryzen, definitely wanted to face you in a serious match before I had to go.

On that note, sorry to those that were left with my excess work for me having to leave early @_@ Kinda wish I didn't have to, but oh well.

edit: thought i should mention that next week will indeed have an entry fee of $10, so it'd be great to see some of cincinnati and morehead show up (i think a bit of lexington is coming as well).

Oh yeah, funny story guys.

So we're doing the Tio stuff on Zeni's computer, marking wins and whatnot, and Oreo beats Shadowbot. So I mark it in Tio as a win for him. Not five seconds later Tio gives me an error messages and crashes. We load up Tio again, having not saved long before, and mark Oreo's win again. Tio crashes. A third time, we load the tio file, mark oreo's win, but not only does Tio crash this time, but the tournament file becomes corrupted, so the bracket was lost forever.

Anyone have an explanation...? Or is Oreo just not suppose to win matches

The wii predicted that oreo was gonna win a match, so it didnt want to load his sonic/tails textures, making him feel bad. Everything is oreo's fault now. If you trip, its not sakurai, its **** YOU EXCEL(OREO)!!!

And yeah that gambling thing is BS. The owners may be worried about whiny kids johnning about losing and causing a scene, or want a cut of the profits, but that's the only reason I can think of.

Also, something of note that Kishsquared mentioned a while back: there is no such thing as underage gambling- gambling is illegal regardless. There are simply a couple things that get away with it because they pay for it (lottery, casinos, etc). Therefore, if they have a problem with money matches at their store, they probably shouldn't be holding these tournaments at all, considering the same kind of "gambling" happens during a tournament as a money match.

The TV's lag isn't noticeable as we have HD Cables for them, but you're right. There still IS lag, even if it's only about two frames (not sure on the numbers, crash knows more about it than i do), which is enough for people to blame their loses on, I suppose.

As for the actual venue, yeah it sucks. Those that work at the store as well those that play magic/street fighter are less than welcoming, and the magic/SF guys often treat us as the melee players do, which really gets annoying. We're also limited on time, as Josh usually tries to kick us out around six, and if he doesn't kick us out he turns the volume on all the TVs down so that we don't bother the magic players.

We DO have another venue we could use, the one used for kakuna matata, but some of the louisville smashers (well, actually just one >.> ) prefers S2D for it's local food court and availability of three setups already present. It'll be nothing more than a place for local weeklies.
