Quite right. It's actually extremely easy if you already have the Homebrew Channel installed for the Wii . . . but I'll save those instructions for when I get to releasing some samples for the public.

I can pretty much confirm now that a Smash Bros. Melee texhax release will be soon... So, to start up a little somethin', I'm going to be making these CHALLENGER APPROACHING shots, just to go up for speculation and whatnot.
First-up:

dammit lol, u beat me to it! i thought i posted a dark mewtwo somewhere on this thread, but i dont see it now. anyway yeah thatd be amazing. i second the motion!

Unfortunately, Zelda (and Sheik) are two of about six characters I'm completely in the blue when it comes to inspiration/hacking (the remaining four being the top tiers Fox, Falco, Captain Falcon and Marth... go figure). The likes of Mewtwo, Pichu, even Bowser I've had it very, very easy. But it seems the higher up the tier list they go... the harder they become to have good ideas for.
So if you have any input, Shoot. All I've got are Wolf-Fox, Midna-Zelda/-Sheik, and [if I'm desperate enough] Brawl-detailed C. Falcon and a Roy-Marth armor swap. XD
In any case, I meant to have another update today over at Stack Smash (a continuation of the first post), but given I'm surrounded by a bunch of Brawl Hackers, I had to decline... So, in the meantime, what WOULD have been revealed:
...Some of you'd probably hate me for it, though. XD
I find their similarities to be... strangely uncanny...

Black Sheik from Brawl would be awesome in Melee. Same with goth Zelda. Same with dark Fox. Same with dark Falco. Seeing a pattern?
I know that you can get rid of Zelda and Peach's dresses with Action Replay. It would be possible with texture hacks as well, right? Might open up some interesting possibilities.
Anyone have any Marth ideas? Even though he's my main, I can't think of anything more than color swaps. Maybe Fierce Deity Marth?

Toon Link effectively replaced Young Link, but Mewtwo and Roy WERE intended, meaning Lucario and Ike respectively had nothing to do with them being cut. Only Sakurai knows what went down, but he's not going to say a thing on the matter.

no. sakurai did replace mew2. they knew that if they put mew2 in, nobody would have used lucario. nobody. mew2 owns lucario. everyone knows that. mew2 pats lucario on the head, and tosses him a biscuit when he brings mew2 his slippers. mew2 takes lucario on walks and swats the top of lucario's whimpering head when he craps on the neighbors lawn. if the wife is out, and he's in the mood, mew2 makes lucario suck him off, and lucario happily and hungrily swallows it all down.
mew2 owns lucario. end of story.

yeah, because sakurai is a greedy, snobby, overrated piece of garbage, and should be forced to sit down on metaknight's sword until it sticks out of the top of his head. a fitting end.
i respect and acknowledge the hard work that went into making the other textures, but honestly, i dont give a **** about them. lol what i want you to post is a link to a pic of dark mew2, and how to get it on my GC. that would be greatly appreciated. thx man lol

LOL, My thoughts exactly... I don't have anything against her "blue" coloration, but Rosalina's the only real fitting one. (And without her having those annoying hip pillows like in Brawl? This should be interesting...)
@The Phenom: Unfortunately, I have NO idea where Mr. Game & Watch's coloration codes are in Melee. Apparently people cracked them in Brawl, so I tried looking for them, same numbers and all... No luck. He's one of the most perplexing characters, so he'll likely have to wait for a long while before I can get to him. Sorry. ):
@seanthedonconsidine: You keep mentioning something about a "Dark Mewtwo". What Dark Mewtwo do you speak of? If you have a full-body shot, that'd be REALLY helpful, over semi-bashing me for not making it without references.

I swear I remember some article saying that Mewtwo wasn't added because of the Pokemon company. I can't recite what was said, but I think it dealt with other generations beside the first needing more representation. *Shrugs*

In any case, I daresay, though Pichu's the lowest tier of all of them... doesn't mean EVERYone hates him. You'd be surprised at just how support he actually has (particularly in Japan now).

I'm rather surprised no one else has given this a +1. Or am I the only one who was disappointed in the fact that somehow Sonic got into Brawl, while Lyn didn't. But what the hell, I only play Melee anyways.
But the point still stands. Having Marth re-textured as Lyn? That ****'s badass.
