If I sound mad right now, it's because I have a really big temper issues. So can somebody post a f***ing tut for this stuff. Thank you. GAH!
(P.S. Srry for being so mad.)

Honestly, all you need is to read Phantom Wings' three big posts in this thread. Should be within the past 4 pages or so. Read those posts, and put the codes he posted into your GCT. Then, download his example and put the files in the proper locations (the .rel files go in pf/module, the .pacs go in pf/stage/melee).

If the above doesn't make sense, then you'll need a guide on Homebrew and/or Ocarina codes to answer your questions.

I'm absolutely stumped by this.

Whenever I use PW's code, the Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard Icons turn into Randoms with "New" labels which freeze the game when you run your cursor over them.

Everything about the code works, it works fantastic. It just glitches up my CSS. I wouldn't even think SSS codes would mess up the CSS.

I'm using the Custom SSS code Phantom Wings gave us for an example, all the Modules are in place, everything is normal. I can't think of anything in my codeset that could possibly contradict Phantom's code.

The only CSS codes I have on are the standard Brawl+ CSS, with all the various fixes for Ze/She, Samus/ZSS, Giga, Alloys, etc.

My head hurts D:

Great, now there seems to be an issue about replays and loading smashville from the replay screen
(freezes occasionally, usually after viewing several replays/spectate, sometimes it just does so randomly)

We'll be waiting.
I would really want to have a guide, most probably a noob proof guide  , I have read PW and Dantarions posts about the codes and stil have some things that wont fully work :( .

Im sure a step by step guide and in a good order will be more than appreciated :D

Btw you guys are genius.... if we could translate it later to characters and PSA, well that would be the end of the world :dizzy:

GIMME A BREAK GUYS, JEEZ

i'm trying to thoroughly noob-proof this thing, which has the semi-intended side-effect of it being over 2000 words so far. And it's not done yet, and that excludes all the lists, codes, etc. too...
And we will be waiting, thank you very much for your effort.. :D

I have a question about PW's code...I wanted to use it but I must ask, WTF is the module he mentions? and is it mandatory?

And download this .zip file:

If you don't feel like re-arranging everything, I've provided a sample so you can check it out. Just copy the the folders and .wgc file to their appropriate locations.

Sample

the stages should be in the Melee section of the stage select screen.
Put the .pacs in pf/stage/melee and put the .rels in pf/module. Ignore the .wgc.

If you want to use one of your own STGONLINETRAINING.pacs, just replace one of the sample files.

It's actually just a plain text file with the codes in it. Not even the right codes; it includes File Patch Beta 4.0 (buggy), and naturally it doesn't have the Stage Roster 1.1 code, being posted before that was devised.

I'm just having some trouble using the Alternate Stage Loader that this thread was originally centered on (I like the idea of having multiple textures on each stage XD ).
Every time I use the code I'm only able to load the stages I've specified in the code, every other stage results in the game hanging at whatever screen it was last at (whether that be a battle before the results screen or stage select). I'm using it along with v 3.5.1 of PW's File Patch code and my data code is as follows:
Code:
Alternate Stage Loader Data v1.1
46000010 00000000
44000000 005A7D00
66200005 00000000
4f4e4c49 000A0000
46494e41 00020000
4a554e47 00020000
4d415249 00020000
E0000000 80008000
I'm using version 7.92 of USB Loader GX (the later versions crash on boot when I try to use codes with Brawl and my disc drive is busted so I can't play discs) incase that has any effect on the situation.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure he means the amount of times you use the line "SSSSSSSS BBRR0000" Since there's one for each stage you want to replace.

FOR EACH ORIGINAL STAGE YOU HAVE REPLACEMENTS FOR:
SSSSSSSS BBRR0000
---------------------------------
FOR EACH BUTTON ACTIVATED STAGE
JJJJ00II 00000000
Let's say you wanted four alternate Delfine Plaza textures. You'd have 1 line for the stage data for Delfino, and then four more for each texture you wish to use. So that would be five lines. The code requires you to list the amount of lines +1.

You still need those lines to identify the names of the stages you have. The "II" part to be specific. You can leave the button activator area blank and just fill in that part.

ok ok Thank you .. Im going to try it while awaiting for a noob proof guide :p. Anyway Im going to risk making a noob question. I have one RSBE01.gct code. So if I want to use both PW and Dan´s codes, do I have to :

- Create a new notepad with both codes and use the program to create a new RSBE02.gct file? or
- Could I add it to the bottom of the RSBE01 file... anyway I tried opening it with notepad a while ago and only saw weird letters.

Anyway any answer will be really appreciated.

GCT editing 101: gct files are simple hex files. If you have a code in txt form, remove all spaces and lines from it (making it one long line), copy it, and paste it in at the end of the gct file (which you opened with your friendly neighbourhood hex editor)

Well, to save code lines from the potential number of alternate stages I may have (using USB loader so I'm limited to the 255) I decided to just put one line for each stage (like I did before, without the activators) and that's worked for the most part. Only problem is that Flatzone 2 and Summit keep crashing. I checked the code and there's nothing different for them than any other stage... Anyone else getting the same problem?

You can, y'know, do the snapshot method for the USB Loader...
True, but from what I heard it was incompatible with the File Patch code, and since this replacement one has a similar function I'm assuming it will be incompatible as well. Still, if it comes down to needing it it's worth a try.

Fantom Wings did a great job on the code, it'd be great if there was a way to choose which stage songs u could use for it though.

And i'm definately going to have to figure out how Dantarion's code works, because there's a few texture's i'd like to use for stages =]

You heard WRONG. It's completely compatible with the File Patch Code. Never say something doesn't work unless you've tried it. I use the USB Loader and have those two code together everyday. Just make sure the Load Codes from Snapshot code is at last code you pick before making it a GCT if you're using Brawl+ Tweaker. If you're using the Code Manager, make sure it's the bottom code on the list.

I never said that it didn't work, I said I've "heard" that it didn't work XD Still, thanks for correcting me. I can't seem to get Summit or Game and Watch to work still btw. I think it might be because of how the code looks for them since they're the only two stages with parts of the file extension in the ASCII code.

EDIT: Just coz I was browsing through other posts, MBlaze, all of the SSE stages I've tried have worked fine for me (I think I have over 10) so I'm pretty sure they're fully compatible.

Does this code mean that you can play with SSE stages online by replacing normal stages rather than WWR?

How would you add blanks onto the custom SSS? Putting in some random hex value above the ones used for custom stages just puts on some random icon that links to some other stage. And 00 is the hex for battlefield.

I haven't tried yet, but is it possible to play SSE stages by replacing stages other than WWR?

I can have multiple textures on Battlefield, but the one time I tried playing Tabuu Destination on FD, it froze. Is it one off, or is it possible?

Is anyone kind enough to make a "...for Dummies" version of this? I really want to get these awesome new stages but I have NO idea how to make sense of the first post.

The most basic, simplest way to do it is to copy PW's example code exactly how it is without changing anything, get the module folder he linked, and add STGCUSTOM1-STGCUSTOM9 to your SD card. That will add those 9 custom stages to the end of the Melee screen with little effort required from you. Editing the code yourself is only if you want to use less than 9 custom stages or rearrange them to different spots on the SSS.
