I think the only reason I've been able to stay in for so long is he fact that once the game started getting frustrating I stopped trying and that took a lot of the pressure and chore like feel of playing competitively.

That and the fact that the Tijuana scene is always HYPE AS ****!

for me, I feel like I can't get better at this point. I have so many fjndamental flaws that the only way I can perform at a high level is complete knowlegde of a matchup, like pika vs pika and pika vs falco. Otherwise I can hang in vs most people but never win. I also dislike the game and the communitty outside local + pika community. Mk ban was the tipping point for me. A bunch of whiners the lot of them. Man up and learn the matchup or go home. I also need to save money and I can't traveling to tournies. So yeah, I'm kinda done lolol

Its really odd for me to see people say theyre quitting then qualify it because most people's ideas of "quitting" is the way Ive had to play for the past 3 years, a.k.a. prioritizing other things over smash. Between either having to work weekends, needing the free day for something else or just the $30-40 it takes for tournaments being fully active in smash can be difficult. I think the games fun and worth playing outside the community, but its still videogames.

I think itd be interesting if a lot of people did quit though.

eh, community seems fine to me. I went to a local tourney recently and it was fun and everyone got along o.o;

Community is changing due to people getting older and having to focus more on their lives than their hobbies, but that's usually it.
