E0000000 80008000

there's a level freezer code needed to speed it up. i don't have the individual numbers on hand since i'm at work right now. if someone like Perfect Chaos can post his values then that would be fine. it should be 1.7x speed.

I'll try this stage out after work. BTW, does the "The Roadway" code make it so there are no cars? If so you can just replace the car models with mewtwo2000's static.bress.

the roadway code also makes the falcon flyer stay on the screen the entire time. if you want to edit it yourself be my guest, but i'm not doing any extra work on it.

I just tried out Big Blue+ and everything works fine. That and the stage is way more fair than the original. My compliments to the chef.

I'm having trouble getting the level freezer code down I think.

4A000000 90000000
1416A904 00000000
22623090 00000031 <---possible problem?
0416A904 3FD99999 <----\_
2A180F3A 00000031 <----Perfect Chaos' lines.
1416A904 3F800000
E0000000 80008000

As you see, I have big blue (31) listed twice.. is this wrong? The instructions say that XX= levels frozen, but that in itself is sort of vague... but allow me to try to make sense of it.
As there are multiple lines using XX, then each single line simply uses the one level it is pertaining too, but the only level I am freezing is big blue... so what do I set the first line with the XX ending to?

I bet the solution is simple... but I can never tell until it solved when doing this coding...

First of all, you are using the outdated version of the Level Freezer code. The old code progresses the stage at normal speed during the countdown at the beginning, then applies the speed mod at "GO!". The newer one applies it from the getgo.

Second, why do you have Big Blue frozen in the first place?

EDIT: I'll explain how the code works...
The line that starts with "1416A904", which was updated to "0
416A904" in the newer version, is the line that tells what the speed mod is. In the first case, the 00000000 that follows it = 0, and for the second, 3FD99999 = 1.7. Any line under it containing "22623090 000000XX" (which was updated to "2A180F3A 000000XX" in the newer version), where XX is the number corresponding to a stage, applies a speed mod to stage XX equal to the section it is under.
The final two lines just makes all other stages not listed to be a speed of "3F800000" = 1.

EDIT 2: The name of the code being "Level Freezer" is quite misleading. For personal use, I renamed it "Stage Speed Mod" since the code does more than just freezes a stage, but alas, the "official" name for it is still "Level Freezer"...

lol fantastic. An outdated form of the code... that is a first for me.

Thank you very much for the explanation, it was very informative.

The link is also appreciated King Luigi.

PS1 has been modded to try and salvage the stage.

People have edited the fire and rock variant, tried to edit the windmill, or even freeze the stage at the beginning to the grass variant.

PS2 has been frozen for B+ and Project M.

To answer your question, PS1 can be frozen, but PS2 has been relegated to that purpose while PS1 was attempted to be fixed.

big blue+ is fabulous, but I'm curious now: was placing the grey platforms that occasionally appear ever considered? While playing the stage I imagined a sort of battlefield layout (original huh?..I know...). Assuming I remember the grey platforms correctly, they would stay parallel to the falcon flyer as it dips and rises.

Again thanks for the code help, and great job Hobo

Well the first page lists Norfair, Spear Pillar, as well as a few more. Distant Planet never worked out, however, a stage pack was released so it was just covered up. There is quite a bit to choose from if you want to help, but as you can see, there isn't much happening here anymore. We did have recent activity from Hobo, so he may still be around. He recently finished big blue+, but also has Dreamland64 in its beta version as well as a version of pokemon stadium 1 that I found interesting. He only released ps1 to one person to test though, if I remember correctly.
