Going back and discussing the list once you've tallied up the votes sounds nice, but it isn't easy. We sort of did some of that, but it didn't get very far. Anyway, there was plenty of discussion going on as voting took place.

I think we know it wouldn't be easy, but it'd be worth it if the tier list would end up being more accurate...

.....Plus, the more accurate the tier list becomes, the less people will gripe. xD

I think this addresses your most recent post as well.

After initial voting has been done, there should probably be a second phase of voting for each individual tier.

Example: G Tier; Link, Jigglypuff, Ganondorf, and Cpt. Falcon. How would you rate them against one another? Which one do you think is the worst out of these four, and who do you think is the best? Finally, do you believe any of these characters could/should move up a tier or if any could/should move down tier?

That would be ideal, but it really isn't practical. Anyway, many people had small gripes with the list, and we could have voted on or discussed every objection in depth, but considering that this is the average of everyone's votes, it's not likely that there would have been major changes.

And Andy, I thank you for that, but I know when ignorance comes into play and when it doesn't. I knew a long time ago that people would attempt to place Yoshi in bottom tier. It's just not right to attempt to place voting on every character when not all characters have been nearly placed like other (which is natural), or evaluated enough to justify a correct position. High tiers were fine in the voting as they have more than enough people playing them, and expressing their meta-game, but as soon as you get lower down the list, how easily are you going to be able to decipher how well those characters meta-games are?

Yes, that was him. Bwett beat Dojo at a late night tournament (around 4am) in a mini-tournament the night before HOBO11 when we were all at BadNewsBear's house. Dojo 2 then 3 stocked Bwett in HOBO11 brackets.

Yoshi's stdev isn't particularly high, so he would have been a relatively low priority when it comes to re-evaluating the scores. Anyway, you guys know what you'll have to do if you think he's too low.

So the biggest changes on the tier list had the highest st dev as well. Not very surprising I guess

Except wolf had less, and bowser had a lot.

To all people saying their character should be higher: go ahead and prove it. Don't count on one or two good players to drastically raise a character. Potential means little if there are no results to back it up. I'll be the first to admit we have a much more informed opinion about the high tier characters and chances are the next tier list looks quite different, especially in the lower regions. However, this is what SBR members voted on while looking at the current metagame. Everyone will find something wrong with the list, something they or even their entire region sees differently. The list isn't exactly the same as my vote either, but I don't have any major issues with it. The split is statistically sound and if you don't like it, you got the average score for each character along with it.

Wow, did the tier list get actively worse? Falco is WAY too high, IC's and Wolf are way too low. Lots of little problems everywhere, but those are the worst.

MK and Snake getting their own tiers? Come on, guys, learn the matchups. If you actually learn to fight them instead of just throwing up your hands in despair, they are very beatable.

I saw that one too, but Zylar's seemed nicer since aside from the movement change, it also lists the character's previous ranking. Plus it's more colorful. xD

I just say you should bump Wario up to A tier at least, hes the hardest character in the game to grab, has the KO power of Bowser or D3, and the areal ability of Jigglypuff, with I think Snake's Weight? not to mention he destroys people with his bike tech glitch thingy. (Basically, to do it, move up doing a wheele on a slope, and if the opponent hits the bike, they get oneshotted from the speed.)

Uair and Fsmash KO like Bowser(Although Bowser's Fsmash is better.), Waft KO's like D3's Fsmash or Jethammer.

Don't forget, Wario has one heck of a broken air dodge.

Wario is fine where he is at, u let US work on proving his worth.

Just about all my characters are lower than before on the tier list: Ike, Ness, and Jigglypuff. But at least ROB is still placed high, Pit is worst though.
