Because you keep beating good players. Also beating TO Joe boosted your rating by 64.

*EDIT* Also this was pretty cool to do. I think I'll do one for Project M and Melee as well.

Some region info:

Ally/Holy/Sword/Techiyo/KingKong/Guard - Quebec (do we really need specific regions for OoP?)
SilverDoc - Toronto?
KingAce - Sauga
Fool - Sauga
Cyan - Sauga?
J.L. - Sauga
AvariceX - Chatham
Dimmy - Sauga
Mikey - Sauga
Carter - Sauga
Jasuke - Hamilton
Googs - Whitby
Patches - Ingersoll

Also Dimmy plays MK. Mikey plays like Marth, Dedede, Snake, and MK...he mains counterpick. Oh and JL plays MK and Wario.

ELO works bad in double elimination situation sadly. You can end up with more elo if you go in losers early in order to play more matches.

Did nobody really figure out why I went diddy/falco vs kkong lol? :troll:

edit: Sauce, it just means canada is worst lol. Elo is relative to the people you play, so I guess if your bad and your 5th, Canada=free.

Actually I think I will count it.

Also I know swordgard. However, it is roughly accurate. Sauc3 is mad underestimating his skill level.

And yes Tin, I love manipulating data.

http://www.mediafire.com/?zj2oddmz0yy for ZSS fix!
what does a tourney having less effect on the pr have to do with the matchups that take place there
like, if tin plays hype at opc and sss, what does it matter that its at an important tourney or a less important tourney? its still tin playing hype

(in other words, my rating should be lower)

also, you shouldnt be changing weightings, the rankings naturally work themselves out so that later matches are worth more
for instance, if i play you and were both 950 and i win, ill jump up (to 975, i think, if k=50) and youll fall. but if we play again and you win this time, since im now rated higher youll gain more points for winning, and ill lose more for losing, and so youll be above 950 and ill be below it even though our set count is 1-1

EDIT: also, amateur brackets should keep the same k-value as regular brackets - theres less chance of a rating inflation because naturally youll be playing lower ranked players in amateurs

and perhaps use a provisional rating system? for the first 3 tourneys anybody enters hes scored with k=50 to quickly get a better sense of where he is, and after that k=30.

Ok here are some more announcements.

KTAR 5 Results thread

King Kong and Holy nightmare attended this tourney. I wish King Kong could have placed better, but I'm definitely proud of Holy Nightmare's placing. Heres their win-loss break down:

King Kong

Win: Bluez
Lose: Jbandrew
Win: Deven3000
Win: Afrochimp
Lose: Deltacod

Holy Nightmare

Win: Hyper Energy
Win: Dreager1
Win: Bizkit
Lose: Ally
Win: Pinkfresh
Lose: Malcolm

Ally, Holy, and King kong all did exceptionally in doubles as well. I'm pumped for CoT5 now.

Awesome.

Luigi is such a hellafun MU when I'm not abusing the infinite.

Our region needs more Luigis.

I main Dedede. Also I'm well aware Swordgard, but against most people it's around 70% that I can get the pummel and thus the infinite at.

LOL anyone who can't break out of one DEDEDE pummel at 70% is doing it wrong. Reflex did it at 128% iirc.
I'm probably doing it wrong, then again I don't have an history of being the one who has to mash out of grabs.
