Can you please add the codes needed for the snapshot method back into the original post? So far it's the only known method that works on 4.0, so it's kind of important

Umm...The gameconfig.txt works on 4.0 fine...

Try downloading the one from the B+ nightly builds page.

EDIT: Oh wait it's you.
Use the hackmii installer to install the HBC and bootmii if you want. Then run Gecko from there.
I can't tell where to get those, but I'll PM you.

Would it be possible to implement "Search & Poke" function in the Gecko, like "Search & Hook" ? I think it would be useful for ASM patches like these.
Sorry for the late response - I've just implemented that in the Gecko code, it will be in the next build released.

I keep getting the message "Not applying Codes" even though I have it set to load them. Any reason why this would happen?

we NEED to know what region you are working with. when it comes to codes like this there are huge differences between PAL and NTSC.
furthermore, the double GCT method doesn't work with newer codesets. plz take a look at the gameconfig/single GCT method.

What paprika killer meant was (or at least i think) that even tho you got it to work with the double GCT method, the lastest codes that they are adding to each newer version of Brawl+ wont work for you. I had the same problem as you and noticed myself that even tho it did run perfectly, codes like the Ganon gains back his 2nd jump using Down B didn't work for me and thats why almost everybody advices you to either do it via snapshots or the gameconfig method mentioned in this thread. Hopes that answers your question m8.

(Corrected some silly spell errors)

waht bladefist said. some newer codes don't work with double gct because of the way the method messes with the memory

Alright I'm using 3.1 NTSC with the single gtc+gameconfig method with the latest, GeckoOS (1.91)

Gecko freezes every time after the "SD codes found. Applying." It goes to a blank black screen and stays there. Usually it would begin showing the Wii safety reminders screen, but it never does.

I am using textures.

I'm running on PAL and can't get either method to work; nor can I find the PAL snapshot codes to use the aptly name snapshot hack.

Using what I believe to be the more practical "gameconfig" method, I place a text document called gameconfig.txt (I have tried with and without the file extension) at the root of my SD card (i am very familiar with this term and understand this to be the most basic directory of the SD card). I have then placed my large gct file in the codes folder (I know this folder is named correctly as I have had codes work correctly in the past and have not changed this). This large gct is the currect PAL version of Brawl+, nothing more, nothing less. I load Brawl through Gecko 9.2 and as it loads I am presented with a brief message saying something along the lines of "line limit exceeded, actual limit is 400 (or similar), 1000 lines used (or similar)".
The game continues to load as normal and I have tested the game to see if the codes are working regardless; I am familiar with Brawl+ as I had it working before the upgrade involving the large amount of lines. I could see no change in the game and it was clear the codes were not working.

Various people have stated they have been having trouble with this method and Paprika Killer himself stated that it does not work well. Is there anything I can do about loading such large gct files?

the thing about not working is either my game or my wii, since it tends to do other weird things.
you should ask around for the snapshot loader, since that usually does work if gameconfig doesn't.

personally, i find the snapshot loader more convenient. it lets you have .gct for competitive, then you can add the codes on snapshot to it and have ur own codeset in use. it's nice for when you play online then get off, you don't have to take the sd card to ur comp.

PAL

Put a gct in SD:/Private\Wii\App\RSBP\pf\ with another gct that has the following codes in order in SD:\codes\. It's like the snapshot method only loaded at start up and doesn't need to be encoded. The "File Replacement" code needs to be in the second gct (the one in SD:\Private\Wii\App\RSBP\pf\) else it will conflict with the code loader.
What the hell? How do i put a code into a gct? Can someone explain this properly (step by step) for people who don't know what to do =/. Trying to load it through a usb configurable loader with Ocarina support but came freezes on startup.

Just get the latest codemanager and put the gameconfig.txt on the root of your SD. Then you can add all the codes you want

I have a question, how do I use the gameconfig.txt? I'm guessing I just need to copy+paste the code into a text document called gameconfig, but this doesn't work. I have the sd file patcher turned on on gecko os, but I don't really know what to do from here as it isn't working.

did you save the file on the root of your sd card?

Code manager 1.1 won't even allow me to select over 256 lines of code, and I know that previous versions didn't care how many lines there were. What's the point of 8000 lines if you can only put 256 into a gct? Should I just use the multiple gct method, but that will only work for two, and that'll only get me to 512 lines.

Hi, I'm posting in this relatively old thread to ask for help.
I own a PAL copy of SSBB, but since codes for PAL are old and very limited, I decided to get myself a US version. I'm using an USB loader to run it, and that means I can NOT use Gecko to load codes (loaders have Ocarina).

I'm using codes to load custom textures, music and stages, and everything is fine (with patch code v.3.5.1). But now I want to add some more codes (Custom SSS, Stage Roster expansion system, etc.) and I'm having problems with the 256 lines limit.
I cannot use Code Manager 1.2, because Ocarina doesn't load code longer than 256 lines.

Is there a way to solve this problem?
The code loader, maybe? But I don't understand how to use it. Does it even work with Patch Code v.3.5.1?

Any help would be very appreciated (and please, forgive my bad English).

I'm kinda curious about what the guy above me has problems with.

I am using a USB loader for my games, forwarder channels with ocarina built in - i have the gameconfig.txt in the root of my SD but it still will always black screen if i attempt to load any more than 256 lines of code.

I can use teh screenshot method just fine, but I'd much rather have a full on single .gct and do it that way.

For both your problems...that code requires the PC Codemanager and Gecko to load the codes, I believe. I have no knowledge on how USB loaders use the code (I'm an SD loader myself), so...hope that helps

I have tried the 8000+ line method, and have been unsuccessful. It works when the maxium lines are like 234 lines or so. But more like 256 lines I tried, it gives an error. I have a gameconfig.txt on my root. I have a GCT of brawl on the codes folder in my root. I also have homebrew and Gecko 19.3.1. Could there be any way to fix this? What should I do?
