Miss Fit due to how unique she is compared to everyone else. She can buff herself with deep breathing, praise the sun for an attack, kicks as with yoga, and the first fighter than can change sex. She/he's that badass.

Mega Man. I'm a pretty big Mega Man fan, and I always wanted him in Smash, but I never dared to dream...

He's really all I need to say this will be my favorite Smash game yet.

I think it's the lack of any real jab. Sure, the buster is what's expected and makes perfect sense, and on top of that it's an entirely unique character design. And, admittedly, I don't really know how the buster attack works, but a big part of characters I like are having quick, close range jabs, usually that provide some good hitstun spacing. Think of it like... a panic button.

On top of that, he looks... sort of clunky? I think that's the best way of putting it. He looks stiff, similar to how WTF moves, but in a less obviously comical way.

Don't get me wrong when I say I don't think I'll play him much-- I still think he's one of the most unique characters, he has an awesome design and it's executed really well. And I could be entirely wrong about him, too; it's entirely possible I'll enjoy him as much as or more than the characters I'm expecting to enjoy. But, as things stand, I don't see the appeal for my playstyle.

I'm totally maining Greninja. Froakie was my starter during my playthrough of Y, and his trailer made him look incredibly fun to use. If his green team color resembles Politoed, I don't think I'll ever use another character.

Anyways, I am going to main Luigi as always since he is my favorite video game character. I'll consider maining Pit, Meta Knight, Little Mac, and Shulk (if he is in that is).

Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf; the Triforce. I plan on maining Little Mac and Rosalina, on the newcomer side of things. Other than that, I need to see whether or not Jigglypuff is decent.

Zero Suit Samus was my main in Brawl, and I expect her to remain a primary choice of mine in Smash 4. From what's been revealed, I'm most likely also picking up either Greninja or Wii Fit Trainer (or both). I like 'em acrobatic ones.

Well, I'll probably go back to my main from Brawl, Lucario, as far as veterans go. In terms of confirmed newcomers, I definitely want to try to main Rosalina. I love the character and I love the kind of play style she has, so she seems like she'd be a lot of fun.

Now, if Mewtwo or Robin were confirmed, I'd main them in a heartbeat.

I am considering Charizard as a possibility; he is great fun in Project M, and I always WANTED to get into him for Brawl (but he was attached to the detriment known as Pokemon Trainer). I usually main a "beginners" character each and every time inadvertently. In Melee, it was Luigi and in Brawl, it was Lucario. So that will probably happen this time around as well.

So picking up Diddy in PM made me realize how much I like this guy.

Wario, Diddy, DK, Falcon and hopefully Lil Mac will form my elite 5. And please god add Snake in as well and make it a six.

Given how the whole roster isn't known yet, and that I like to try out all the characters (which considering you have to do that to unlock all the stuff kinda goes without saying) before deciding who to specialize in, I can't give a definitive answer now.

But as for first picks Olimar is obviously up there.

I love fast, agile melee-based characters, which is why I mained Zero Suit in Brawl. I'll definitely try her again in SSB4 because of her new recovery that can combo into aerial moves, which is nice. I occasionally played as Sheik, Pit, and DIddy in Brawl, too, and they look fun in SSB4, as well. As far as announced newcomers go, I definitely want to try out Greninja and Little Mac, as they look right up my alley.

As of now, the characters I am currently leaning towards the most are Marth, Palutena, Pit, Zelda, and Zero Suit Samus. If I were to pick two favourites out of those five, it would have to be Marth and Palutena. I am glad we finally got a heavyweight long-range magick user.

Between you and me, I am still a bit worried.

I play ranged characters myself. Link was the only good one in SSB64 (more so in the Japanese version), and Samus replaced him for me in SSBM. When I got cozy with Samus, they absolutely wrecked her missiles in Brawl. If they still suck in SSB4, I am afraid I am going to have to take my business elsewhere.

Mega Man is looking to be the mobile, mid-ranged specialist compared to others. Doesn't interest me. I want to camp.
Villager may or may not be good. We'll have to see more.
I never tried getting into Snake in Brawl. Whether or not he returns or his moveset is given to someone else, I would like to give it a shot.

I dearly so hope that if Link or Samus does not work out, they don't leave me hangin' again. Maybe Robin or Palutena will be the answer to my prayers.

To come back to this;

Samus has changed a lot. Defensive Samus like myself will find no salvation in the character, it seems.

That said, Villager is a lot of fun and is looking to have an immense a lot of depth. Looking forward to exploring that character unless someone else is announced, but it's hard to imagine it getting any better than this.

Top Priority: , , and (Pending Confirmations) - Jpuff's been my go-to since 64. Bowser I've taken a recent liking to. Wolf for obvious reasons. MM's been a classic favorite, so he's up there too.
Secondary: , , , - Samus is still among the favorites since 64. Lucario's a fun fighter to use(don't use him much in the actual Pokemon game though, Mega Evolution is too... Silly a concept). WFT and Miis look too good NOT to use.
Tertiary: , (Pending Confirmations) - Ness was my big main in 64, but his Melee performance stepped him down a bit, and I've just about phased him out in Brawl. Still like him, though. Pac-Man because I'm an OG arcade nut that fantasizes of getting a cocktail table with Pac-Man/Ms.Pac-Man and Galaga in it.

Zero Interest In: , , , , , , , (Chrom), (Shulk) - I'm basically done with this crew of jobbers the second I get their trophies and they'll forever collect dust on the shelves. All anime, all swords, all boring. Save Little Mac, but that exclusion is because I'm just unimpressed by his showing at the Smash-Fest.
