Edit: OnYourMark, thanks for your concern. By the way, titles don't matter. Most of the time people will just pay attention to your posts and not your title. In fact, you may be ridiculed for your title. I have recieved a few hate messages with things like "Just because you are a debater doesn't make you better" or "You are pretty stupid for a debater" and so on.

...I'd be kind of mad if they deducted points off of spelling/grammar if I purposefully had one specific character speak with poor grammar.

If you do it right, it will work. The key is to make sure the grammatical errors are all within dialogue. In dialogue, you can get away with just about anything.

Just make sure you use actual diction and word choice to demonstrate a dialect/speech pattern, and not a bunch of contractions (or lack of contractions -- I'm looking at you, fantasy genre!).

I just realized something. If someone already has the writer title when they win it goes down until it hits someone without the title so even if I get last in every contest I am going to get the title eventually.
