As for Brawl, I'm fine with double-blind. Worst case scenario, you win with MK/Falco, and I get the money back in Melee. I'm fine with that. Forward's just as terrible at Brawl as we are at... erm... Wait, bad analogy. He's as good at Brawl as I am at analogies.

I don't think that's the case.Im wondering if Samus is limiting my abilities in Brawl at all. Im placing higher everytime I go. But i am curious if I would do better in picking up someone else and learning to play them, would I do better.
I've used Snake actively for 11 months, going on 12, still haven't made any real splash. It's usually the player, not the character.

CF Player that I owned (I think it was Steve, but I can't remember the face for sure) - Jkjk, good matches, watch your habits. I would have given more tips, but I wasn't in the best mood today. Nice Roy. CC more, though, especially against Roy. Also, you have a REALLY bad habit of focusing only on kill moves when they're at kill percents. Fix that, and you won't have people coming back like I did almost every round.
Dekar - I only got to play you with Jiggz, and I'm sad. Nice Diddy. Play me at SuperCon. :D!
IC Maaaaaaaaaangz - Read the rules next time. They're posted on the site. Or don't get angry when I'm explaining them. Or whatever. Sorry I didn't explain things better, but I was seriously feeling terrible today.
New Mexico in general - Sorry this tournament was terrible. In general, the King of the Springs events are pretty lackluster. C3T and other Denver tournaments are leagues better. Next time you guys come, I'll be sure to get a full night's sleep so that we can have a proper tournament.

The Avalanches - too good?
Is it just me, or is CO possibly the weakest four corners Brawl state? We have top-tier johns, granted, but the play with some of our "top" players has been going downhill lately. Either play the game or don't. I know that our Brawl scene has been kinda dead recently, but it's really up to you to step your game up.
This isn't to say that we're crap or anything, but CO is falling behind noticably. Our players that are growing are doing so rapidly, but our high level play is stagnating, I think.
Or maybe that's just brawl. Out-gimmick the other player. Or play MK. lololol

Nah, it wasn't so much Flux. I think that until he starts getting beat badly, he's going to be stuck where he is. I do mean you and Nite, mainly. I'd include myself, but I place rather erratically now, and I have to be in a Brawl mood, knamean? Mainly just our vets, I guess.

So, I'm officially out of school Monday, with my graduation this Saturday (so I'll miss the teams tourney). But I'm really aching to get some Brawl in now. I'm kinda disappointed in my showing in the Springs, so I'll start actually practicing with you guys from now on. Anyone open for doing something this week?
Also, my friend lost his gamecube controller. He left it next to mine, but then when I looked there it was gone. Anyone happen to see an extra black one after I left, or mistakenly took one? Apparently it was a somewhat droopy control stick - aka, "Gimpy."

So, I'm officially out of school Monday, with my graduation this Saturday (so I'll miss the teams tourney). But I'm really aching to get some Brawl in now. I'm kinda disappointed in my showing in the Springs, so I'll start actually practicing with you guys from now on. Anyone open for doing something this week?
Also, my friend lost his gamecube controller. He left it next to mine, but then when I looked there it was gone. Anyone happen to see an extra black one after I left, or mistakenly took one? Apparently it was a somewhat droopy control stick - aka, "Gimpy."

What we really need to worry about @ the team tourney is having a few TVs. The last EFL tourney only had two, which was really disappointing. Every Brawl player can bring a Wii, but people don't think to ever bring a TV. 4 TVs would be a lot for a small community like CO. If we don't use all of them for tourney matches, we can have at least keep one open for friendlies / MMs.
I'll bring my Wii, SD card, and a copy of Melee. Hopefully Tony will bring his SD card with Brawl+ active, so I can JV 5 stock him with Falcon on Hanenbow.

NM wants melee tournaments.
CO is not possibly the weakest state, it IS the weakest state. in terms of brawl. you all jack off to melee so much that you neglect barlw (and i do that the most in my state, so much that i am characterized as notorious - I didn't enter brawl singles at the tourney even though I probably could have placed). Step up your brawl game and come down to NM on the 30th to test your new skills

All right Tony, let me give you the run-down on your playstyle. I'll warn you that NM plays very aggressively in terms of its technical skill and its pressuring games, so we will be biased in our assessment of you.
We find CO very "slow." Not slow per se, as I've seen you guys work extremely fast in certain situations (just look at Ferdi's tech skill). Most of you seem to sit back and wait and sometimes even do that in your shield like its brawl. However, your patient style elicits a never-before-felt pressure on your opponent, one that somehow disables our tech skill.
Another thing is your "slowed-down combos." Bear with me here. I've seen this multiple times, where your opponent is in hitstun and you're right next to them. Normally you would continue the combo and attack, but you wait and somehow that waiting elicits an even more devastating finish.
Another thing Steven and I see is that you just "run past your opponent" when you should simply attack them on the spot. If i'm hiding in my shield, normally you would either dashgrab or predict our spot dodge and dash attack. But you guys instead run PAST our shield and "wait."
I honestly don't think you guys are pulling off mindgames that are beyond our level to comprehend, it's just a matter of the fact that we are alien to your playstyle. The strangest thing about your melee ways is that everything i've listed up there WORKS FOR YOU, and those kinds of things just SHOULDN'T work in general.

I dunno, you play slower and really don't throw out many attacks, but it's all so psychic that it hits. Maybe the correct sentiment is just "CO plays Melee well".
Example: Ferdi dash-attacked a Marth with Fox. Normally one would expect Fox to just utilt > aerial or whatever else. But Ferdi just stood there for a moment, then did a slow dash dance and upsmashed. It connected. Weird and sexy.

We wait a lot cause we can/try to predict what you guys are doing. You guys are really technical but you're really predictable, like if I'm Marth against a space animal/Falcon, I just fthrow/dthrow and wait for your sidestep/tech back into another dthrow respectively. At extremely high levels of play(like against M2K and stuff) you'll feel like you get comboed by everything into everything not because they're set combos but because their prediction skills are top notch.
Only CO player to which this doesn't apply is Ergadis, because that guy's technicals is so fast that he doesn't necessarily need to play smart since he'll just shine spike you before you can do anything. Maybe this is the reason we're so bad against him? I kinda expect everyone else to use much much safer options and just wait for it(like if it was me or rafa or kenny we'd probably just hang at the ledge and edgeguard with Bairs), but no, this kid's got enough balls to just shine the hell out of you no matter where you are. This is probably due to me not having any confidence in shine spiking.

NM should come to Cutthroat Console Tournament in June / Supercon in July and see if they're that much better than us at Brawl. Dave and ZeroX will probably both be there (they weren't at Springs). I'd also show up, seeing as both are in Denver.
I also want to play Dekar and his Diddy really badly. I know the matchup well, because I both play Diddys (Diddies?), and main him myself. He's my 2nd best. Idk who else is good in NM.
