At the falcon only tournaments we had back when Ownapalooza's were still going utilt was considered bad manner. And ideally the winner was whoever did more awesome stuff. But someone would always utilt kill at like 20% then the winner would just be whoever normally won hahaha.

I upB oos all the time. It is ONLY good at high percents or nears the edge. Period. Not negotiable. They can CC it (i think) and if not that i know for mother ****ing fact good characters can just tech roll back towards you and punish ur landing lag.

Well I mean the way you play Falcon dittos is one of two ways

1) What you just described [be as awesome as possible]
2) Do what johnny did vs SS and **** their mobility by jabbing them all the time and being really "gay"

Up B is actually extremely good at punishing a fox short hop nair >_>

If you're perfect, of course.

fox's full hop nair approach.
it seems stupid but it freezes me up as i don't know how to either get on top of it or get around it. i know s2j answered this previously and 0room put it up in that AMAZING guide of his but i couldn't quite understand how you stomp that approach.
i've got the sh nair covered with dd away -> sh over and stomp their face in, but can't cover the full hop.

also, 0room for pres.

There are a lot of things that I really have realized is so ****ing good
and those are things that I never understood before

One of those things are full hops

They're ****ing amazing against Falco and against people who Short hop all the time

You see
SH = SH
SH < FH
FH = FH

So if you Fox is coming at you with a FH nair
FH nair him back
or FH uair
Or DD away
Basically just match his options with your options

When he was talking about stomping approaches he was talking about when they dive in too far and you can stomp their approach

Because if they don't FH
Then they can just DD->**** you

I guess I should've added that answer

Just played a bit with the Germ and Bob$ and man, I just did not care tonight. Usually I'm all hype about melee but I just did not give a ****. This is like the first time that's ever happened and it's weird.

I remember someone telling me a rock-paper-scissors scenario.

Full hop beats short hop.

Standing there/DD beats Full hop.

Short hop beats standing there.

Now see I was gonna say that
But Fox's USmash beats everything you do

Sooooooooooo :glare:
And technically DD beats everything

One of the more famous quotes here on SWF is "Even the best approach can always be beaten by WD backwards"

ugh you're right :/

But in all seriousness
Fullhop beats Shorthop

But the problem with Fullhop is that it's slow, and people have time to set up and punish if you do something dumb
So
If you have Fox fullhop nair you
Set up
and punish them for doing something dumb

no, WD backwards loses to DDing forwards by the same amount that they WDed backwards by, and DDing loses to overshot aerial

I mean obviously it's not that simple, but if you want to look at it from an RPS point of view, they have "counters" also

Man I love fsmash. The fade back on it makes it so useful when you read a move. It's just like reading a roll. Only you're reading a tipper.

definitely an underrated move. and yeah, that small step back that he does is beautiful.
kinda feels like a counter move except less gimmicky and less consensual.

Just recently learned how ****ing amazing WD OoS counter attack is. People abuse Falcon's poor jump OoS, and space around that imaginary bubble so Falcon barely can't touch them with an aerial OoS. Especially gay *** spacies with their nairs and bairs. Instead of feeding them free hits, just WD OoS into a running counter attack... nobody expects you to fly at them with a running nair when you were seemingly just stuck in your shield a second ago.

Juggleguy I been watchin your vids man. Improving heaps, keep it up.

I don't get what you mean by that though. If you're being spaced in your shield how do you WD OoS towards the opponent and run at them with a nair??

What should we focus on right now, then?
Anything in particular we wanna talk about??

How to edgeguard in falcon dittos ?
There is something I noticed from Hax during his matches vs Fuzzyness at G2: whenever he sent fuzzy offstage, he always grabbed the ledge right after, and waited for him to get back onstage, then punished him.

It seems a pretty easy and safe way to edgeguard falcon in dittos, but what do you think are the pros and cons of such a strategy ? Do you have your own tricks to edgeguard another falcon with ?

Edgeguarding falcon is stupid easy. utilt and knee is like, all you need. if they are recovering from far away either grab edge or flying knee their face. coming in low, utilt, knee, or grab edge. coming in high, just be calm, remember about how much falcon can air control, and just punish landing lag or uair him a bunch until he is forced to come in from one of the other two options.
