Anyone coming from Little Rock area? I can get a hell of a lot cheaper plane tickets there.
There are surely some Arkansas Melee players (like VTS?) going to this tournament. I know recently Kage flew to Little Rock to ride with them to a Missouri Melee tournament.

Or... fly to Birmingham (or Huntsville) and ride with me!

In other news, I'm terribly out of shape in 64. I gotta practice up!

If there is a $500 money match please record. Preferably with commentary.

THX.

Also MINIMUM POWER battlecow sure is confident. Sure you don't want to bring a laptop so you can play keyboard? haha
You forgot, I got that Firo practice right here in Champaign. And minimum power is set to become Maximum power as soon as that ****er Raph ships my adapter (seriously, **** that socialist Canadian postal service)

Also, if his settings weren't quite right or something, it wouldn't be fair. Console is the best way to do this.

Although if you're willing to try playing on emulator, Acolyte, I do have an adapter that you can use, and we won't start unless it feels exactly like console. It would be more convenient for me.

Oh, and acolyte, if the tickets were cheaper, you could just come down to Champaign and play- we could do our MM, and I'd get all the boys together for a big old-fashioned smashfest.

Uhh no. We are playing on an N64 console with N64 controllers, no discussion. I have never played on an emulator, so therefore it would not be fair. If you're more used to an emulator that's your own fault, as the real smash 64 takes place on a console. Also no thanks, if im gona fly that kind of distance i may as well go to the actual tournament. Hopefully i can find a cheaper ticket

OK, OK, just calm down. Like I said, console is fine (even though there's no discernible difference, but w/e, I understand your point of view). Don't get your panties in a wad. Tourney it is.

No one is trying to scam you here man.

It's still very much "What if I show" for me too.

But hopefully we'll meet at some point. And hopefully it's before he learns that he still has a lot left to learn.

Oh and BTW Acolyte I'll be using a Hori Minipad, not a traditional 3-grip N64 controller. Legal at all tournaments, doesn't give me any unfair advantages, licensed by Nintendo. You shouldn't have a problem with it.

This is dumb.

One or both of you won't even show up. And if you both do you won't have the balls to $500 money match.

Yah I just called you both out.

IF I even show up I'll $20 money match you both.

?

Come on sheer, how's this dumb? If we do show, we'll definitely do it; $500 isn't even that much lol. You act like it's some impossible thing. Plus, a $20 MM is a friendly, first of all, and second of all, we both know I'd lose to you on console anyways, so WTF would I do that for?

Honestly, they aren't being cocky, they're just that good.

And even if you have the ability to combo people from 0 to death 100% of the time, a large part of 64 is landing the first hit, which I sincerely doubt you have much practice in, especially against top players.

And for some reason, I have a feeling that this acolyte guy is some troll pro player under a different smashboards name just so he can snatch up your money. If not though, he is screwed.

BS. I've played competitive smash for 6+ years and I've never seen or heard of anyone doing a $500 money match. And I'm pretty sure you guys won't be the first.

P.S. There might have been a $500+ money match at some point in competitive smash history but I'm not aware of it. Seen a lot of $100 money matches though.

Trust me, i've made tons of MM's here where i live with people, although they arent "pros" like you guys, i still put my money on the table everytime. It's a matter of whether or not battlecow will ***** out, im 100% down for this MM.

Hey dude, I'm definitely down. I'm actually gonna enjoy this, because you're kind of a douche. "Not even well known on the nets" from a guy with 17 posts on smashboards. Lol. I've made more than a thousand dollars in MM's in the last two years, and I wrote the post on hustling scrubs like yourself.

Again, not sure if I can find my way down to MSU, but I'm super-hype to do so right now, and if I do, you can bet your *** that I'm bringing that $500.

Wanna agree on rules now? I'm thinking:

5 stocks, $500, no items, standard stuff.

Dreamland only

Best of 5

My falcon/pikachu/DK vs your ness/falcon

double blind for first character pick, then loser counterpicks

What do you think? If you wanna add a couple other stages that we can strike to and CP to, I guess that's cool if they're not crazy.

This is hilarious. Make sure it doesn't go down without a crowd of at least 30 and a camera.

Wasn't there a $14 000 MM in Street Fighter or something? Now that was hot. We'll see how much I MM Battlecow though when I finally get to America one day. I'll put myself down for a minimum of $1 000 right here and now.

Yeah, Fanatiq wasn't putting up his own money though, he was getting bankrolled by a professional gambler from Vegas, who also paid for a really good East Coast player to come down and practice hardcore with him for months beforehand. And everyone in Texas put all their money on Toan.

I'm cool with first to 5

Lol i'm the douche? you're the one talking **** saying i stand no chance against you when my original post simply asked "is Isai going to be at this tournament", and even after we made peace you're still making remarks like "oh he has much to learn" and now calling me a scrub just because i have 17 posts on an ssb fansite? You're funny. I really hope you talk like this face to face with me, we may have a "ssb" match outside the console if you catch my drift...

Are you threatening me? Seriously? Over pre-MM ****-talking in smash 64?

Look, dude, you're obviously a pretty unstable guy. You've been getting really angry at random points throughout this conversation and you finally managed to get my goat for real. I will take your money, but I WILL NOT be threatened with physical violence. Apologize.

As for my supposed transgressions- I didn't call you a douche until you said that I was "way too cocky" and that you couldn't wait to "straight swipe my $500." Those were douchey things to say.

The way we usually do it is that loser picks stage. How about we start on dreamland, and the loser can pick either Hyrule or dreamland?

This is assuming that you stop threatening to beat me up IRL obviously.

The whole point is that you can tell them how it is and they'll still fall for it 100% of the time.

Mind games. Get them agitated and determined to prove you wrong. Most people can't focus anger and so they just run at you all day aggressively.

I see a mod viewing this thread. inb4 everyone and their mother gets infracted.

It's really not about winning- winning should be a given. It's about getting them to MM you in the first place.

Haha you ain't gettin no apology from me, that's just the way i am. It's simple- you won't recieve threats or even bad talk if you don't piss me off/insult me, not hard bro. And yeah of course loser picks stage, and picks char second too.

Also, I read your hustling page or whatever...and i don't remember if its you or someone else who said it, but i realized; although im fairly confident in my skills, if by some odd you did turn out to be as good as you say you are, i admit...i wouldnt take losing $500 dollars well. At all. Like i don't trust myself after losing 500$, id be pretty pissed. So do you mind if we changed the bet to $50-100? That's a modest amount that id be pretty happy to earn, and an amount to respectfully lose while being a good sport.

Looks like it's already off, I win.

Anyway I want money matches. Are either of you willing to money match me? If so for how much?

So Acolyte's *****ing out. Predictable.

Look, man, if you're scared to play me/realize you'll lose, just say so. None of this **** about how you "don't trust yourself" not to inflict physical violence on someone because they beat you in a video game.

If you wanna call the match off, I guess that's OK. I'm still very much up for it, though, and I can bring friends or something to keep your raging hulk-self under control (lol).

Seriously though, get some perspective. You really wanna ruin some guy's tourney by starting a fight because you lost 500 measly dollars?

fail. the reveal got your bet reduced!
Son of a-

I need to stop being so flashy. A$ would have milked him for the full $500

*shame*

Decided not to MM him anyway though. He might, like, actually try to beat me up or something (loooooooool), and if I whoop his *** in self-defense, it makes the tourney and community look bad.
