japan tier lists prove just how much effect tournament results/good players have on the tier list.


japan is pretty much a completely different community, so it has grown differently.
but north american and europe tier lists were still pretty heavily influenced by the american tier lists, so they're not too different.

Fox and Olimar are also above WARIO.

The latter isn't a HUGE offense, but the former is rather preposterous.

What really irks me is how some people are going OMG WTF WHY IZ X KARACTUR ALLA THE WAI UP HEER AND Y KARICTUR HEAR

The two communities are oceans apart. Sure, they've come into contact many times, but they'll still develop different metagames.

I can understand this list and their reasons behind it because, the foundation of this is based off of tournament results.

But then again, they have better players when it comes to certain characters. Japanese & Europeans do remarkable stuff with Pit that I have never seen an American Pit player do. They make that stuff look stylish and classy.

As strange as it may be, I'm alright with this tier list. When it's time for RAIN's tournament in Japan in April and we go over there, they better be prepared to back up their players and country up. If America dominates his tournament, they'll rethink their tier list.

Look, some of their things I can understand based on playstyle and differences in stagelist, etc, but I just cannot for the life of me understand why they have some of the ridiculous (IMO) placements they have.

Really, the ones that surprise me the most are Luigi in F, DK in E, and Zelda and Pikachu in D.

I can't say Pit SURPRISES me, since I've heard they think he's much better than we do, but I still don't agree with it.
