Basically, in order to be a good programmer, you have to be good at logic. That's all computers are. They are not opinions. They are not thoughts. They are all logic. Any Sci-fi movie you have seen where the computer goes crazy after having hours of thought is false.

Computers don't think, we just program them to emulate thought. Basically, AI.

But I must say, my friend loves his programming classes in college. He loves to make up hilarious things while still doing the actual program for a grade.

Um, no. Programming is just as creative as writing poetry.

And those sci-fi movies aren't that off. You just have to program the machine to have feedback routines. Thank god no one is really wanting to do that yet.

But until you program, don't try to say it's so simple. Not being an ***, just representing a programmer's opinion.

No hate and no insult intended, just sayin.

Peace,
Lykaios

Guys, guys, guys.

This is THE MOST EPIC ssb arrangement I have ever heard in my life, at about 3:37 (the song playing on FD, not battlefield). It made me smile so wide my face might've cracked. It might be hard to hear due to the noise, but ****, it's so awesome.

If anyone manages to rip a good, quality mp3 of the song, I'd cry tears of joy.

Yeha thats made of win.
Hope for many versions of the soundtrack from 128 kbits mp3 to 320 kbits mp3 to flac to the original files.
So everyone gets what he wants, SFX and chara models would be awesome too.

Short Fuse, once you get the game, how long will it take you to pull the music off? Is it relatively simple, or will it be a time consuming process? I heard that because Brawl is dual-layered there have been problems with ripping.

Also, when do you expect to receive your version of Brawl?

This hit 2Chan recently and was on GBATemp, which means the game can be ripped by the usual methods and works with WiiTools 0.2b. This is NOT a discussion to see if your modchip can play it, this is to rip the images:

Roster list:

Here are folder contents of each fighter:

PAC/PCS files could very well be sound effects like SSM was for Melee.

Old Post:

Yes, the Wii disc can finally be decrypted. You may ask yourself, so?
It's decrypted, don't you get it? You can now see all the files on the disc and copy it to your computer. When I get the game I'll decrypt it. What you can expect

The easiest thing would be the MUSIC!
Images/Backgrounds and such could come later and you can go through files looking at characters.

Before you guys say that there's no way to read directories and files, I'll be doing it myself. I wrote my own GameCube image reader and Nintendo DS Image reader. Nintendo usually sticks to the same scheme so it won't be too hard for me. (Yeah I'm a programmer). Also this opens up for hacks...some good (all character unlock!) some evil (online cheating). I promise to use my powers for good though. Stay tuned to this thread when the game launches, especially you music lovers.

To be ripped:
Music (hopefully to be played with in_dsp and in_cube Winamp plugins)
Videos/Cutscenes (Will probably be THP format which can be played with mplayer 1.0rc2)
Roster (by checking filenames and checking file content)

I'm making this thread "official" since two moderators replied positively to this thread.

ey. i really need your help. where did u get those files and how did u get them? i just downloaded a bittorrent called "Super Smash Bros Brawl NTSC (Japanese language)" from torrentreactor.net and it won't let me open the same folders as u because it was password protected. do u know where i can get this password or at least the same download?

i have a dvd5 that's going around, since i STILL don't have my import copy. i don't like line-in audio rips. i'm going to try to get DIRECT conversions of the files with lossless quality. first post to updated with file tree. i was right, THP for movies. they're all Fullscreen not widescreen, which means it actually stretches the video when you watch on widescreen.

I found this interesting:
\RSBJ01\effect\fighter\ef_dixie.pac
\RSBJ01\effect\fighter\ef_dr_mario.pac
\RSBJ01\effect\fighter\ef_mewtwo.pac
\RSBJ01\effect\fighter\ef_pra_mai.pac
\RSBJ01\effect\fighter\ef_roy.pac
\RSBJ01\effect\fighter\ef_toon_sheik.pac
\RSBJ01\effect\fighter\ef_toon_zelda.pac

Btw, there aren't enough files to "unlock" them via hacking. They were in the game or partially in at some point.

Shortfuse, when you get the songs ripped, will you have them downloadable from SWF or a different site? If you are using a different site, could you use Galbadia Hotel, because Megaupload and Mediafire are blocked on this computer.

STEP YO GAME UP
been away for forever!
is it possible to rip hitboxes? or even just cause them to appear during moves? it would be really handy to get them out early in the game's lifetime...
