Oklahoma Thread: Weekly events for all games in OKC and Tulsa

Depends on when the Arkansas tournament is, and how far it is. If it's on a Friday, and it conflicts with one of my brother's away football games, I may have to go home and housesit our newly-acquired 5-week old Bocker puppies.

To be technical, a Bocker is a crossbreed between a Beagle and a Cocker Spaniel. We expect this puppy (and the one my brother got) to take after it's Cocker Spaniel mother in genetics when it gets older.

What I thought brawl minus would be stupid fun, it actually involves some insane skill and seems to be far more balanced than Brawl (yes I beat Cats MK with my Ganondorf)...the game ended up being hella fun and we played for 5 hours.

I finally get to play Ike without being crazy gimped, but Peach must not have been worked on much yet she seems kinda like what she shoulda been in Brawl in the first place. They should melee-ize her down smash and she'd be perfect.

yawara, the tournament I mentioned is a concept for now. I have no idea when it is.

forrest, which brawl minus version are you working on? I have a play testers version and peach is basically lagless in every sense of the word. down smash is still not as good, but her other moves are a lot better.

I'll have to check my version. She seems able to combo amazingly well but still doesn't have the hard hitting that I think she needs. Idk I still ended up working for fair kills every time. Honestly I didn't player her much before I switched to Ike who has been reworked in a more interesting way.

Also, still need to get that Oh Snap! ruleset together. I'm just going to go pretty much with the Whobo rules that can be found here:

They seem pretty solid, especially after I played a weekend of brawl, and its a big event that ppl know.

Sorry I meant huge smashfest the weekend AFTER thanksgiving weekend. December 4th for melee and brawl (and maybe get some action from both groups in Brawl Minus!!!.)

I want to see Outlaw and KosMos there, and yo since vega is in this thread currently bring him along too! Probably too much to ask to see Rasta and Pay$ but you know a man can dream! Curtis and Sonic should come as well. So go ahead and get chu saturday night off!

Just make things in different font sizes, center some things, add pics, and then let it flow. The rules are cookie cutter so that shouldn't be a problem.

Also, Tom and Josh, we should try to get some kind of awesome smashfest going either tomorrow around midday and well before 4 (when I have to work) or on Sunday. Tom should invite the Tinker guys, and Josh should invite those two guys who come to the Union on Wednesdays (I think it's like Jon and Mikah?).
Melee players who play brawl could come too.

Also, I don't know if I could make it to a smashfest the weekend of the 3rd, but I shall try.
Another small note - Forest should do a small Oklahoma tourney the weekend after finals. Just sayin.

that PR came out before brawl...fall '07 i think. hella old, lol. good memories, though. i remember once upon a time when i was 11th or 13th or some **** on the first PR :D
you know what sucks? i'm not going to be on the new england PR because they are having a swiss system tournament like 3 days before i get back here from winter break so lame.

but yeah, austin, come to the melee tourney in january :D i dunno how much hype melee can get, it being 2-days and all, but hopefully there will be a decent turnout.

Alright guys, I'm about to post my rulesets and schedule for Oh Snap! 6
I'm bringing together Brawl and Melee with this one, so I want to see oklahoma come out in full force to support this tournament regardless of what game you specialize in!

Here is what we need:

HOUSING
I need people to dedicate housing. We expect ALOT of out of staters to show up, and as such we will need alot of sleepspace. Please let me know either in this thread, through PM, or on the phone (405 464 5348) if you can provide a place for people to stay 1 or 2 nights.

Thats the weekend of January 15th (14th, 15th, 16th) I expect many players to want to get here friday night and crash before the tournament on saturday.

SETUPS (Melee, Brawl, Smash 64 on Wii Virtual Console, and Brawl Minus)

HxC will have 10-16 TVs for us, and is working on getting a comparable number of Wii's with Brawl discs.
That is a good start but we need ALOT more if this is going to go down in a reasonable amount of time. I need TVs to be lag free. I really hope everyone that frequents this Oklahoma Thread is able to bring a setup considering you aren't driving far.

Finally Networking
If you know players or crews that are nearby (or maybe not so nearby, Midwest and Southwest should fully represent!) please get in touch with them and let them know about this event.
