Actually, it's happened to him before at multiple tournaments, he got angry and said he wanted Jiggz banned as a result, but really he was just angry at himself for not being able to stop rolling.
LOL!!

Armadas has been saying that he hates jiggz and want the char banned since his first tournament, which was RoS1 in feb 2005.

I'm happy if we can establish that the top spot doesn't need to belong to someone who doesn't let us gage his skill.

PP/Armada for first.

man i'm glad pp won, but you guys can't be serious w/the "no crowd johns" posts. go check a vegas spread/moneyline and see how whether probability remains constant based on game location
...so if I gamble in a casino in Biloxi versus one in Vegas, I'll have different odds?

What the hell.

Talk is so cheap. If Armada is SO predictable how does he get anywhere near the final stages?

PeePee won because he outplayed Armada, Armada wasn't able to really find a way back onto the stage effectively a lot of the times, PP found something that worked and kept doing it until it stopped working. (Which it didn't in this case)

But if he's predictable, and you know his playstyle, you should have no problems beating him. So how many times have you beat him?

Oh right.

no crowd johns is legit. sure, the crowd plays it's role, but imagine if this were a sporting event where instead of a couple hundred people cheering for pp, there were tens of thousands. it's armada's job (and basically anyone that plays against pp on the ec) to drown out the crowd and overcome it mentally. if he didn't, then it's only his fault, but i highly doubt armada lost because of the crowd. look at how he performed; it's not like he got 3 stocked or something. he gave himself a chance to win

You must be new to having your arguments picked apart.

Oh wait, you're probably very experienced at that considering you didn't respond to any part of my post. =D

The crowd would play a role when there are 200 people screaming against you and they're literally right next to your ear though. Comparing a nerd playing a video game is a lot different than comparing a professional athlete playing a professional sport...

Gratz to PP. Armada, you're still awesome.

Well that's true and all, but why is Armada the ONLY ONE who constantly has to prove he has that ability? Why don't the top american players prove they've got that down as well?

That wasn't an argument that you presented, that was Ad hominem. I see you haven't ever debated OR attended a major smash tournament.

wat. perhaps i was not clear enough. say you want to bet the lakers vs the heat-- you will get different odds depending on whether the game is in miami, los angeles, or a neutral site

edit: again, i'm glad pp won, think he's better etc. but it's a bit nonsensical to suggest that crowd/game location do not affect results. they have proven to do so in every other sport/competition. idk why they wouldn't here

that's exactly why he lost. they are so close (PP and Armada) that anything which plays a part in the game or their minds while they're playing, can make the small difference of winning or losing. I agree johns are lame, but in this case I do believe Armada would have won if they were playing in same condition. In the WF there wasn't a big response from the crowd and Armada managed to beat him quite easy.

A nerd should still condition himself so that he could play in those adverse conditions.

No johns.

what i find weird is that ppl are just being dumb and not acknowledging that pp just played pretty damn good and armada was just not able to beat it

they were very close games and very close sets

dr pp won. congrats

armada is just as good imo

but there can only be 1 winner so w/e

best jigglypuff my ***. have you ever heard of pound 4? mango's is clearly better

(i'm not knocking hbox by any means, just saying mango is clearly the better puff)
Mango hasn't been used Puff or has joked around at the majority of tourneys he has been recently. hbox has actually been more consistent.

Got Ninja'd ;c

Similarly, I consider Dr PP to be the best Falco right now.

Simple. The best tournaments are in america.

I don't think anyone who had been watching the matches up to GF expected PP to suddenly change the way he did. But seeing that he had an opportunity to win Pound 5 could have motivated new inspiration.

I think it only became clear after that moment on YS where they both shielded next to each other for awhile that PP had figured out how to handle Armada's defensive game. Instead of relying on a continuous string of attacks to undermine the shield, he started backing off more often after every shielded approach. The new spacing subverted Armada's OOS game.

yeah well. where's Mango right now? probably getting drunk to have an excuse later.

don't take me wrong, I know Mango WAS the best. but pretending he's still the best while he fails in several tournaments is stupid. don't say 'a trying Mango' is the best player in the world. hipotetical players do not exist.

how? armada knows how rowdy the crowds over here get and he's said before that he's used to it now. it's his fault if he let it get to him just like it' the athlete's fault if they don't get the clutch moment because of the crowd getting to them.

he played amazing all tournament, he just lost when it mattered. the other player was better; just like genesis.

Mango WAS the better Puff. He's done now. This is 2011. Hbox IS Puff.
no even back then hbox had the better puff. mango was just the better player.

there is a difference.

if anyone says the crowd got to armada they clearly didn't watch the set. nearly every chant was ruined by armada. if anything, armada was the one who benefited from the chants. especially the "usa!" chants.

every usa chant pp lost a stock. generally these were the moments that pp went in too hard and got punished for committing to a bad approach.
