In some alternate universe, I think I have listened to this band before. I feel like this is a song that is hard to listen on a continuous basis, but when it comes on, it's very easy to appreciate. His vocals play perfectly with the strings and limited background music. When the music gets loud, he gets loud appropriately. Chorus is very fun to listen too, and man would this make as a good campfire or small town song.

I honestly have no complaints about this song, aside from what I said it's not a song I would put on repeat non-stop. Still, this band has me interested.

Not sure if I ever posted this, but given that someone else also posted the Skyfall theme, I'm inclined to post the "other" submission that was made.

Neat bass tone in the beginning. Cheesy cliche film orchestra hits are a no. just waiting for the melodramatic vocal warbling.

ah there it is. song is dropping in quality at an alarming rate.

LOL at the big falsetto climax that segues into...the same exact thing as the intro which segues clumsily into a boring guitar solo with orchestra trumpets. The trumpets sound cool at least.

riff at 4:00 is actually pretty awesome.

can't save the song now though.

abysmal song from one of the worst albums I've heard all year. Muse need to stop doing whatever they have been doing for the past 5 years and make good music again.

Wow, pretty cool instrumentation. Although I hate Sigur Ros to my grave, this is cool. It's like Cap'n Jazz with stereotypical Chinese music, as weird and maybe ignorant that sounds... Can barely hear the vox, so w/e on that.

Really dislike the vocals during the intro. However, the song starts to redeem itself. That part at 0:24 is pretty cool. Then it goes back with the "intro" vocals, but fortunatley it doesn't linger on them for long. Then it ends. This song could have been interesting if it were to be expanded, with the parts having more room to breathe. Right now, though, it seems too short, and also like it's better suited as part of an entire album rather than as an individual track.

Rad band name

yessss that grainyness does it for me.
I enjoy the tone here a lot. This song can maintain its energy without getting boring, and no riffs that pop up are blemishes.
Solid song! Pretty simple, but I love my fair share of repetitive jams and I'll have to check out more by these guys.

er. anyways.

Jonwayne "Andrew":

intro has me incredibly intrigued. I'm a sucker for super modulated and glitchy sounding vocals. reminds me of the dog from Animal Crossing.

the beat comes in and ties everything together so it's not just random vocal warbles. I really like the higher pitched harmony.

however, I was still kind of expecting something more. this works wonderful as an album intro or a segue into another song. On its own its pleasantly weird, but doesn't "take me all the way". Very interesting.

A song not on youtube? Madness! Hm, I'm not sure if it's due to always reviewing this sort of music that I'm starting to get all of it blurred, or if it's all really becoming redundant. I do recognize a few different things here and there. I mean, the progression is not like other hardcore screamo songs.

Once again, I wish I knew what he was saying. I can't tell if the lyrics are something to give a thumbs up to or not lol. Anyways, compared to previous songs of this genre I've listened on here, just wasn't feeling this one.

No. I won't.
God damnit you gazed upon it.

Now you will start to feel nauseous pretty often. After a while, you might start to hallucinate. You also might develop an appetite for human souls (if you don't already have one). And then, AND THEN.

You'll go to the doctor, get a shot, and proceed to cary on with your life like you did before you gazed upon it.

I like these cheesy 90s sounding ballads a lot. Feeling the smooth saxophone and cliche lyrics. Also a lovely singing voice. I'm reminded of Final Fantasy Pray, a collection of vocal renditions of Final Fantasy songs. Risa Ohki's voice sounds like this. Very lovely.

I don't like the singer's voice at all. The guitar was very repetitive through out the song and was boring, and the high notes from the piano (i think it's piano), were more annoying to listen to. I don't like anything about the song this time. The song doesn't even have an intro, and the ending is more of the annoying high notes from the piano. The whole song was just bland.

read the title of the thread you dummy

Man, the chord progression in this song is really repetitive. It's just the same 4 chords over and over the whole song! sheesh!

oh, you mean that the vast majority of pop and rock music utilize a repeating chord progression for cohesion and musical unison?...oh.

anyways, to be serious, this song is okay. Reminds me of Silent Hill music but more cheesy. The electronic elements don't really work for me in the context of the song. It's also not very catchy. I think Amy Lee is better than this band, and she should do something else with better musicians.

Creepy beginning...

Omg, voice is haunting, the music is dramatic and amazing! o.o
Ooooh, I'm loving this, lol.

Creepy, haunting, beautiful, and dramatic all at the same time. That's a hard thing to do! Whoever this is has done a great job with this song, I wanna say the instruments are synthesizers, but it's hard to tell at points.

Not sure what the bridge was about... lol it was like 5 seconds? o.o

I was hoping for a more dramatic ending, but w/e.

Very nice song, it did pretty much everything it needed to. The chorus was amazing, the verses were haunting and the song really just gave me the chills listening to it.

Easily a 5/5...

This song is just too epic. I've heard of this song last year by my Math IM teacher...

*Flashback*...She was an awesome teacher... Too sad that she left, everyone who had her wanted to stay tried to petiton her back in... But she already accepted the fact that she was leaving while we didn't...*End of FlashBack*

This song has a very unique twist to the song... It also never gets repetitive or dull ever.. unless you listen to it 25 times for 365 days in a row. Starts off slow with violins which are intentional... And by the 32 scond mark this song shows it's true colors with electric guitars, drums and bells that pierce your ear in such a good way, you might want a doctor.

This song however does not maintain a rock and roll sound throughout the 3:24 seconds and switches to several quiet eerie moments that shivers your toes even if you were in the Death Valley at daytime. This is one of the best reasons why it can never get repetitive.

I think this song should be in a videogame... Especially a boss.. With a 3:24 second time limit... Would make an epic song for a boss with a Winter Theme...

Anywho... That is my oppinion on the song... I'm not very keen on rock music... So I do not know alot about what they did... All I know was this was AWESOME!

I heard this song this weekend...

Men of Snow:

The beginning makes me feel warm and fuzzy with the little accordion sound and the piano chords.

then she starts singing and I am completely in love. what a perfect and touching voice. It makes me feel fantastic even though it's a sad song. Very expressive singing. The instrumentation is lovely as well, not distracting too much from the singing but just enhancing it.

The chorus breaks my heart. "one day you will go away from this..." and the way it builds up is fantastic. The ending is a little strange, but it works.

Wow, really really good song. I think I've found a new obsession.

That guy's a great vocalist. It's one of those voices that seems so natural for him and so satisfying to the ear. Too smooth

It's a pretty succinct song, but the lyrics are not boring. I like the scenes he paints. His passion comes through in his voice and it shows how important this place is to him. Kinda makes me care too. Feels good

ha, I like the choir in the back toward the end. Very... classic

I guess maybe because it's so clearly early-90's, I didn't really expect a style I hadn't heard before. It's a solid song--it does things with integrity and quality--but I'm not really struck with awe by anything.

I enjoyed it.

First of all I must say how uncomfortable that album cover makes me. It's very unsettling to me. and so it has cast this song in a dark fog already.

the music is absolutely hypnotizing and spellbinding. i don't even know what is going on here. the guitarwork is phenomenal and the minimalistic drums and keys are just perfect. this song is putting me in another world. absolutely appropriate vocals too. every element of this song works wonderfully to create a very weird and unique mood. The end "solo" is fantastic. wonderful tones and effects all around.

This song is very interesting... Very nostalgic. Even though I'm only in 8th grade...
I think it's build-ups to the chorus just sound amazing.. And the fact they repeat it is just too good. The build-ups contain of what I think is piano and guitars... The chorus is pretty good itself but I only could hear some slight vocals and I think it's pretty good... Sorry my computer is being stupid.. This song would've been a 6/5 if I could hear the whole song without it being muffled...

I'm not a big reviewer, but I'm just doing it because regina.

This song really reminds me of Ed Sheeran's The A Team and other songs similar to both, except that this one's more powerful. Really love the piano and minor echoing. Her voice just makes it so much better.

I know electronica doesn't go along well with what you posted, but I just loved it ever since I saw the Wii U commercials on air with this beat included. Had to find it and I did. Immediately saved it afterwards. This is moombahton.

^^ wow what a completely abysmal post. that **** belongs in 4chan.

anyways.

Fun beginning. Nice low end and tom drums. I enjoy the tempo slowing about a minute in. The drop is okay, nothing mindblowing. I'm so over these dubstep breakdowns and this one isn't particularly special. The squealy synth noise at 2:20 is cool.

Alright, this song's really getting on my nerves now. That "getup" voice sample is atrocious and the song just goes on and on and gets more and more grating.

The only Fall of Troy song I know is the FCP remix from Guitar Hero sadly lol. Nevertheless, I found that one catchy, and this one in the beginning resonates with me as well. I like how the chorus progresses, but the verses are a bit lackluster. Not really a fan of the whole "half talk/half sing" sort of deal. Once the song goes into the bridge, I'm reminded of the FCP Remix. Pretty decent song overall, and also song just randomly ends just like that?

lol, Dr. Acula. I see they are about as talented as they were when I was high school, which is to say not very. This song is fun enough though.

Whoa, the weird interlude at :55 was really cool.

this doesn't sound very much like old Dr. Acula. the vocals are very different.

the movie samples are gay in this song.

the lyrics are terrible.

fun and interesting enough song though so I don't hate it. I appreciate any song with a lot of changeups. reminds me of Heavy Heavy Low Low except not really good.

I'm not the biggest fan of Elliot Smith, but wow, this song is devastating, and I mean that in a good way. It's like Dan Barrett worked with AnCo or something. The lyrics are alright, straightforward, and very depressing... It's like a suicide note or something :/. I dig the hell outta the instrumentals, and you know what, I think I'll go listen to this album now. Cool song.

Yeah that song was one of the last ones he wrote. There's a section in the song that goes "give me one reason not to do it" and there is a masked backing track that says "because we love you", that was added by Elliot's wife and sister after he died.

Yeah, there's like 3 versions of this song. The "official" one sounds different; a bit more refined than this one and I also have this other version on my old PC that sounds the best I think. Dr. Acula's lyrics usually aren't good, but I don't usually understand 90% of what they say so I just focus on the song itself and how the vocals melds together with the song. The changeups in the song and the weird vocals interchanging from grunting, screaming, to yelling and sometimes singing is what keeps Dr. Acula interesting to me. I used to listen to Dr. Acula when I was in high school and I think this and Let's Get Invisible were some of my favorites. I have no idea what kind of music they make now and I don't want to know, haha.
