    Devolution alternate controllers

I just found out that Devolution on Wii/WiiU supports classic controllers, wiiU pro, and ps3 controllers. Has anybody tried any of these for melee and are they easy to adapt to and use? I tried the ps3 controller and it's alright but very difficult to wavedash normally and the button layout...

    Bumper Preference?

It's strange how much variety there is here. I use L for L-cancels and shielding, and R for wavedash and waveland. I used X to jump at first (for maybe 2-3 months) then switched to Y and have never switched back. Also use c-stick for many things. I use L and R for powershields.

Requesting Feedback - A Potential Alternate Rule Set

I see a few problems with this idea. First, all stages allowed except for Brinstar and Big Blue!?!? Say hello to: Unbelievable camp fests on Corneria, Hyrule, Venom, and Yoshi's Island. Goodbye any character without a walljump on Fourside (ironically Ness's stage). Side camping back throw...

    Controller stick replacement legality

I don't think people quite understand what I meant in my original post... I replaced the entire potentiometer with a NON-gamecube one. I'm not talking about just exchanging the plastic assembly or stick inside the potentiometer. To answer a few questions that have come up: 1. You...

    Controller stick replacement legality

Nope, I desoldered the box and put a new one on, a different part similar to an xbox stick, the part is a potentiometer. A nice benefit is a left stick that's a bit worn still makes a good c-stick which requires less precision.

    Controller stick replacement legality

I've been on a long quest for gamecube controller perfection and think I'm pretty close (at least for my preference). Main change I make is replacing the stock analog stick (not the stick cap, the actual box with the stick inside) with a different part which I believe is more durable and less...

    CONNECTICUT Smashers / Smashfests !

Anyone here near Simsbury, Canton, central CT? Sounds like most of you are southern/SE CT. Wouldn't mind playing someone once in a while.

    Gamecube Controller Adapters

I probably should've taken your word for it...got a new PS2 controller and an adapter and boy does it blow for Melee. It's acceptable as a VC controller or non-technical GCN games but useless for Melee. Not even going to bother trying a Classic Controller/Pro adapter. I'll be looking into...

What Street Fighter players think about Melee.

I saw some vids online of some high level SSF2Turbo matches and started getting into it, even got an arcade stick and it's a lot of fun, I think Melee players would probably like it. I haven't ever played SF4 but to me it looks very much like the Brawl of SF. When I first saw some...

    Gamecube Controller Adapters

(Note to any mods: Can someone please make (or if approved, I will make one) an OFFICIAL controller discussion thread? It really does not belong buried amongst HDTV, recording, game disc error issues in the technical thread.) If you don't want to read my whole lovely rant below what I'm...

Q&A The Official Technical Issues Q&A thread (TV's, Controllers, gamecubes, etc)

Official Gamecube Controller Stick My trusty platinum Nintendo GC controller's stick is acting a little funny. I have serious trouble dashdancing consistently, kinda goes to a weird half moonwalk or just plain twirling in place slowly. As a player, I kind of like to just repeatedly dash or...

    New Controller?

Interesting thread...... I'm thinking of buying the new official white classic GCN with the longer cord but I'm really curious about some of the issues people have brought up. I'm really picky about controllers and they take such a long time to break in and completely alter the way you play...

    Japan defies the tier list.

If you liked that, take a look at this........best Link ditto I've ever seen, great Japanese style mindgames: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-RxMZqcMx8

    Japan defies the tier list.

Actually what you just said is much more stereotypical......I'm not saying every Japanese person is a samurai who lives their life by bushido. FYI not every Japanese person of the "parent generation" thinks that way either. I'm saying that in general, the Japanese players seem to think that...

    Japan defies the tier list.

This is actually an interesting topic. I agree with some of what has been said but This is actually an interesting topic. I agree with some of what has been said but I also disagree with some of it. From what I have seen from watching many old classic Japanese smash matches and many US...
