Which Side Should Characters KO Opponents At?

I feel that Luigi tends to kill well both ways, but with more emphasis on vertical kills (Fire Jump, upwards smash, drill "spike", and neutral aerial; compared to forward smash and maybe Green Missile). Yoshi kills better vertically, though: upwards smash, upwards aerial, and his forwards...

The Official SBR-B Brawl Tier List v2.0

Definitely an interesting list, and several things I disagree with just looking at tournament results. At any rate, the response from this by everyone else will be fun to note.

    Weekly Character Discussion: Fox

How true. He's fast at everything: fast at moving, fast at attacking, fast at killing, and fast at dying. Makes him a blast to play, but there are always characters that do better what he does.

The Easiest/Most Difficult characters to play at a competitive level?

I'm surprised that Yoshi really isn't mentioned as being tough to use competitively. His mediocre killing power and poor shield are sometimes tough to work around. I feel the toughest to use competitively with any success are: -Lucario -Luigi -Yoshi -Pikachu -Ice Climbers The easiest are...

In your opinion, what's Ganondorf's top 5 moves?

Let's see... 1. Thunder Stomp (downwards aerial) 2. Upwards aerial 3. Flame Choke 4. Backwards aerial 5. Forwards tilt Honorable mentions to his forwards aerial and upwards smash.

    your WORST and BEST Character

My best is probably Mewtwo, just because of how he controls is natural with how I play. Luigi and Sheik are very close. My worst are Falco and Yoshi. I hate how Falco feels in Melee (I prefer Fox, though I don't use him that well), and Yoshi is just impossible to use without a decent third jump...

    Learning Skills Through Characters

I don't know if anyone's done this, but Jigglypuff adds several elements to the game: -Usage of spot dodges and rolls: It's rare, but you do NOT want to be the person screaming off-stage over Jigglypuff's shield going out. Having someone that flat-out punishes you for breaking your shield...

The NEW Yoshi Matchup Thread V2|Week 10 - Zelda

If Mr. Game & Watch uses the Bucket Brake, that is usually enough time to start pelting him with Egg Toss. He has to use the aerial, pull out Oil Panic, put it away, and continue with his recovery, enough time to start egging him. His low death percentages also apply vertically. Bucket...

The NEW Yoshi Matchup Thread V2|Week 10 - Zelda

I hate facing Mr. Game & Watch, with as disorienting as he can be. General thoughts on the match-up: Yoshi Bomb: Bad choice. Throw around Yoshi Bomb, get hit with Oil Panic. The stars released are, indeed, energy projectiles, and I've pulled off Oil Panic against King Dedede with his impact...

What stage do you NEVER/least play on?

I wish I could say Rainbow Cruise and New Pork City, but someone I know loves to counterpick those stages. I'd have to say...Mario Bros. and 75m. I loathe those stages and never go to them. Final Destination's the same...love it as Yoshi, but hate it otherwise. I will occasionally go on Rumble...

    Gannon..wait hes in brawl?

I hope the Topic Creator gets mauled by a Ganondorf in his first tournament. Or maybe even a Bowser or Yoshi.

The official captain falcon's potential discussion thread

...okay, I firmly disagree with this statement. "Potential" is merely how good they can be once their metagame is fully evolved. Several characters are seen as having "potential", the ability to be a lot better if someone comes along and pulls a "Chu Dat" with them. Toon Link and the Ice...

    Wolf's safe moves.

Wouldn't Wolf Flash be considered safe? It does have some ending lag, but you usually are far enough away that you won't get hit, even if they shield the attack. It is cumbersome and awkward to pull out, though I doubt the move is easy to punish if you use it carefully.

What's the 3 stages you play best in?

I tend to do the best on Port Town Aero Dive, Final Destination, and Spear Pillar (don't ask). I'm also decent on the Temple, but playing against Falco/Pit there sucks.

What melee levels SHOULD have been in brawl ?

Brinstar Depths, Poké Floats, Dream Land 64, and Mute City. Those are the four stages I wish had come back. Especially Poké Floats...that was a blast as a counterpick.
