Playing MK is beneficial for progressing in Brawl.

I actually learned how to be really aggressive with help from Meta. Which was something i didnt know how to do well until i played Meta competitively.

My tournament play is not so good.

Relax, thats the best advice i can give you for a tournament. Smile and relax...its a tournament setting not a job interview. Playing some friendlies before the tournie starts actually can also help break the nervous bit. I also find that if i drink something really tastey and cold it helps...

My essay as to why I think clones are necessary for future Smash Bros. insallments...

Kirby Super Star Ultra [remake of the SNES title] was also released this past November. Also a very good DS title to pick up if you havent played the SNES original.

My essay as to why I think clones are necessary for future Smash Bros. insallments...

Thats pretty much my story as well. I really hated Melee's roster of cloning, back when I first played it. I never got around to playing melee to its full potiental since there were really no competitive players to fight with. Brawl's done a better job trying to get around the cloning idea...

    Detecting Johns: A Guide

Hahahaah, i've done counter johns before with someone else i friendlied. We got a good chuckle out of it. I Dont ever john..because i believe its such a negative way to look at a match. I hate people that john after our matches, if they do i call them out on it. "No johns please". As for...

    Best Defensive Character?

While primarily MK needs to be the pressure aggressive type, switching to defensive or a campy mode can put you in a better situation. I find being too much aggro on MK can lead to me being too predictable. Nothing wrong with a retreating fair/bair every now and then. But i'd rather dtilt.

    'The poke, or the jab?'

I actually like to use Diddy's jab, shield grab, jab jab, throw. It works pretty well.

does fighting bad players make you worse?

I actually agree with this guy. I generally dont get on D3 for noobs. I like to play them on a character i generally never use. That way, for me at least, it'll make for an interesting match. I also usually stick to using my secondaries if it gets serious. Full blown hot competitive action...

Wifi is getting to my head

A guy i friendly with all the time always has a orange and red dot- he lives in Cali, me Ohio. And we get nearly 0 latency. Input commands? I dunno, but in comparison to offline though, offline i go just a smudge faster than i do online. The difference isnt really substantial though. Though...

A Complete Guide to DI and Survival (updated Mar. 6th 2009)

I'm really kind of dreading to read this because i'm not going to get alot of paragraph breaks. Its like my mind is taking a breath of fresh air when i see a paragraph break. Also at the end of each major section, you should create a mini - some what of the thesis statement pulling all the...

    Pikachu refining needed!

I find U-smash to also be incredibly quick to execute as well. Like Muhznit said, it does KO very nicely if kept fresh. I think you should keep playing Wolf K-9. Dont ever get discouraged by chaingrabs. If you love the character you play never stop.

Low Tiers and The Tournament Scene

One sided opinions are horribly bad, for a number of reasons.

Tried out MK, have a few questions.

I dont have trouble with Nado over wifi. Uh..a good solid shielding or Dair fixes that problem.

    How to be a King.

D3's learning curve would probably have to be getting the hang of his size/weight. Shield canceled chain grabs are something to practice on, but its much easier to do vs something like motar slide. Usually my take on D3 is; Keep everything as lagless as possible Grab to punish [chain grab...
