I agree with chipndip. I think Egg Lay is way too telegraphed to be of any significant use against anyone that actually knows how to play well and doesn't take risks. If you're coming up off the ledge, there's a multitude of better options available to Yoshi.

Right now I'm immediately willing to guess that any character with a strong recovery would be a good partner for Yoshi. If you think Yoshi's gonna get edgeguarded (which is unlikely now what with Egg throw being buffed quite nicely, but still possible) then you're going to need to use someone...

Yeah, I'd say Yoshi has to take the cake. Most people are rating him as a lower tier character, when in reality he only has one awful matchup (against Zelda), and does fairly well against/doesn't have as much trouble against the rest of the cast.

Ness, Lucas, and Game & Watch are all excellent counter-characters to Zelda. I suggest that if you know you're going to be facing a Zelda player, that you use one of them, otherwise switch to one of them after the first game. Remember, Brawl is more about individual matchups than it is how...

I'm not sure "fairly tough" is giving Zelda enough credit, I'm more than willing to say she's a complete counter-character to Yoshi as Ice Climbers were to Sheik in Melee. All of her aerials have priority over Yoshi's/outrange them outright, especially her Up-air, which can kill at ridiculously...
