There is enough time from the delay for them to fix this problem though. Since online-play is a large issue they might be focusing on this A LOT for the fans and hopefully make it uber.

There not being as many characters as we would hope for. Not that Brawl needs a lot but just enough to keep us busy with.

Lucas doesn't seem similar, he actually seems to have a larger array of attacks. A snake that can ledge grab? PK Ice and PK Thunder? Not to mention his original recovery and shield. He just all in general seems better then Ness. Most likely he will not show.
