My opinion is that the football is simply a generic item, not necessarily from a game. Could be either way, but that's just how I see it. I see the football as an object somewhat like the fruit in Super Mario Sunshine, able to be kicked/hit away without picking it up first.

Yep, it could be that in order to play online, you need the latest Wii software at the time (which it would obviously check when you tried to connect). Even if something new comes out in the way of AR, a Wii software update could be released as a normal system update, and again, Brawl will not...

No, this is an idea that almost EVERYONE else has had. I've seen it countless times before plastered all over the internet. It's good in theory but would make for annoying gameplay...

I can't really see it being very exciting... Just a flat landscape is all I can imagine. Plus, if you had hazards like bob-ombs or the King everybody would complain and no one would play it.
